| A Great Idea, An Okay Product
(electrodummy, Southern California, 2008-01-13) |
| |
| Despite being an electronic ignoramus, I was able to figure out how to install this product with the instructions. It plugs right into your cigarette lighter and the unit is at the end of the plug, so the unit will be wherever the cigarette lighter is in your vehicle. Luckily, the placement in our vehicle was good. Unfortunately, the sound quality that we got on our cross-country trip was not the greatest. I'm sure the results vary by area with the number of local FM radio channels and nearby large radio towers (the fewer of each, the better the sound quality). Our daughter's iPod nano usually balanced in the adjustable holder, but our taller, weightier iPod tended to tip the entire unit over during turns and stops if we didn't keep a hand on it. Also, it is very important to turn the device off when you turn off the vehicle, because the device continues to draw vehicle battery power even if no music is playing. This type of device is better as a drawing-board idea than as a product; but if you really want one, this particular model is probably better than most based on the other reviews we read. |

| Works great
(Celticwench3, Phx AZ, 2008-02-01) |

| Read the previous reviews and saw a few negatives. Wondered if I'd end up regretting the purchase, but to my happy surprise it is just as it is described. Works great, easy as pie. Anyone who can't get it to work either needs a new antenae or a new car radio cause it can't get much easier. I had another one previously that was smaller, and worked on batteries, so was not cost efficient and since it didn't plug in there was no place to actually attach it so it was difficult to use in the car, it works great on my home stereo tho. I see no reason not to give this product 5 stars the only reason I gave it 4 for features is it's kind of large and if your shifter is on the floor it can get in the way, so in one car it's a little more challenging, but still works well. |

| I Could Not Get This To Work
(CheleP, , 2008-02-08) |
| |
| While I liked the idea of this, I was not able to get it to work to play music in my car.
This system requires you to tune your FM dial to 87.5--the radios in both of my vehicles only go to 87.7. You can also use the frequency 107.9, but I have the same problem on the other end! Oops!
I also found the directions (or lack thereof) to be problematic. Usually, I can find a workaround for just about any problem, but the directions for use were just barely there--I could not figure out how to make this play music on my car radio. At All.
I ended up using it more as a portable charger for the car, because it does also charge the MP3. It also works as a power source for my portable MP3 speakers. |

| As good as an FM Transmitter can be...
(bob857, Ratlum Mountain, 2008-02-17) |

| This cheaply made FM Transmitter - mp3 Player/Charger works surprisingly well. Sound quality is good, though not as good as a wired FM Adapter, and certainly not as good as an actual Auxiliary input - but good enough considering the ease of use, portability and the very wallet friendly price and certainly on a par with most OEM car radios.
The Tuner is continuous (you're not stuck with just three or four presets) so you can always find an empty frequency, even in the "Big City."
Upon arriving at your destination it easily stores in the glove box, leaving nothing to indicate to thieves that you might have an mp3 player in the car.
Over all a very good product at a very reasonable price. |

| worth the money
(corilynn, Hattiesburg, MS, 2008-01-06) |

| Bought this for my husband for Christmas and he loves it. He uses it to listen to his ipod through his car stereo to and from work every day. The price was great and I'm so glad that it is adjustable to fit any ipod or mp3 player! I had bought him an ipod nano 3 generation for his birthday and I found it frustrating to find the right accessories for it! (There are older nanos that are shaped differently). This transmitter made it an easy decision and a no hassle purchase since shipping was so low and O describes their products thoroughly. I ended up purchasing all the 3G nano accessories right from this sight! Thanks Overstock! |
