Overstock Knows the Customer is Always Right (soundsleeperatlast, California, 2008-05-23)

We recently, as in last week, ordered 2 of these chairs as accent pieces for our front room. 4 days later the chairs were delivered--can't beat their speed in delivery (happens everytime I order through Overstock!). The negative: the UPS delivery man had a temporary lapse in judgement (giving benefit of the doubt here) and for some reason decided to heave the 2 large boxes with fragile components over our locked back fence, where they then landed 7 ft down on concrete and a metal dog bowl (which was consequently dented). Needless to say the chair on the bottom didn't fare too well--when we opened the box the chair back's wood frame was completely slit in 2. Annoying! I hate dealing with returns and was really unhappy about having to go throught the process. I worried for naught, bc Overstock is a DREAM to deal with in this situation (never had to before). We completed the online return tool and got an e-mail the next day apologizing for our inconvenience, telling us that a claim had been filed with the carrier, and a replacement chair order had already been submitted. We can expect to have the replacement within 5 days AND all we have to do is hold on to the damaged one for 15 days-if the carrier hasn't contacted us by then we can toss it. They really have excellent customer service! Additionally, the chair that landed on top was in fine condition and is quite lovely. The wood is black with a hint of mahogony, but still much darker than the picture--we have all black furniture and it looks great with it. The fabric is nice, and as other reviewers pointed out, is black and a definite beige (not white or even cream); the chair is comfy and has a very nice presence in the room. I am very much looking forward to getting the matching set so the room will be comlete and am very pleased with our purchase! Only caution--I recommend playing a matching game with all the small parts and putting your screws and washers together before beginning. Once you get that all sorted out assembly is easy as cake (though having 2 people-1 to assemble, the other to hold the pieces-is highly recommended).

OVERSTOCK YOU ROCK!!! (BarbaraM4, Long Island, NY, 2008-08-19)

OK--I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this cool chair!! And my Siamese cat gives it 2 little brown thumbs UP and is already comfortably curled up. I assembled it in 15 minutes, partly due to the panic that my husband would walk in and ask the usual question--"Do we really need that?" It was easy to assemble once I realized that I didn't have to "force" any of the pieces and just gently maneuvered until the bolts correctly lined up with the holes. The chair is actually a camel/black coloration--not the white/black as shown. This is MUCH more attractive for my needs, and I was really, really worried after I placed the order. It goes with absolutely NOTHING in my house, and yet it looks stunning in my foyer next to a super expensive pecan wood chest, on oak floors, with a round wool rug in shades of green/camel/black/mauve. My point is that this is the type of true "accent" piece that makes a cool, stand-alone statement. It's not SUPPOSED to "GO" with anything, and if I could find more places for it, I'd order 3 more. An important Overstock Customer Service note: I called them a few days after placing my order with a pricing issue. The young man that I spoke to was courteous, professional, polite, and followed through with his promise to respond to my concerns within 72 hours (I had a resolution to my problem within 36 hours). I was happily shocked with the follow-through, and I will continue to look for super-cool Overstock bargains.

Lovin the look (Jantible, St Louis, MO, 2008-07-10)

I ordered 2 of these chairs for my den after scouring all the reviews. I took a chance on getting them delivered in good shape and the first box was exactly as expected. Ok, so 15 minutes tops to put it together and everything went together perfectly. Chair #2 is made entirely different on the bottom and does not look like it will be as supportive as the first. It also has a 5 inch deep crack across the back top in the oval wood trim. I was all ready for these chairs to complete my newly decorated Den, so this was quite disappointing. The damage is bad enough that I have to return it, so I talked with Dorothy on the chat line. Dorothy took care of ordering my replacement and explaining the return and free shipping label I will receive in email. All and all, she made the return pretty painless, so if I get the replacement and it is as nice as chair #1 I would say it is worth it. I will also say - they are occasional chairs and not all that comfortable. They are plenty wide, but I would have liked them to be a little taller since my family is tall. The fabric is really nice and I love love love the color --- the taupe/beige in the print tones down the animal look and they are just really pretty.

Gorgeous chairs that make a statement (DlDavenport, Greeley, CO, 2008-06-22)

I was looking for a couple of unique chairs to make a bold statement in an otherwise neutral, contemporary "wine grotto" nook in our basement. I plan to pair them with a dark leather cocktail ottoman to finish to look. My husband put them together easily in under about an hour. Positives: the chairs are gorgeous, they look much more expensive than they were. Nice wide seats and more comfortable than we expected (we did not anticipate chairs you could sink yourselves into since were were focused on the unique fabric and design). Negatives: One chair seemed to have been opened by another buyer and perhaps returned - the screws and bolts plastic bag was ripped open and we had to hunt for all the pieces that had fallen in the box (luckily, all were there). The end result was not impacted, however, and we are very happy with both chairs. One suggestion: be sure to tighten bolts well; the way they are installed, my husband thought he might have to double check them periodically to make sure they don't work themselves loose. Overall, we are extremely happy with our purchase and I would not hesitate to recommend these to others.

delightful deal (penelliecan, Orem, UT, 2008-07-23)

My shopping style tends to be one of careful consideration -- measuring, taking swatches home, measuring again, etc. I had never purchased furniture "unseen and untested" before ordering this chair online. The sculptural lines of the chair kept drawing me back to the website to look again. After using the measurements from Overstock's description to determine the chair's scale and reading buyers' reviews, I made the purchase. When the chair arrived three days later, was easily assembled (no cursing by my husband), and was in my living space, I was absolutely delighted! I had thought the strength of the zebra stripe might be overpowering, but I loved the chair so much that I ordered another. This time, I assembled it myself. Nothing but compliments.
