This streamlined, simple, oriental floor lamp features a brushed steel base and pole, and crinkle paper hanging shade. Reminiscent of art deco style furnishing of the 1920s and 1930s, this paper shade lamp casts a soft, diffused light wherever you place it. This lamp features a UL approved socket, takes one 60 watt bulb, and features a ball and chain switch.

The Story Behind the Product

This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. WHERE SHOULD I START... (luckybeth, Plattsburgh, NY, 2008-02-22)

This is the single worst item I have ever bought from Overstock. I have purchased many things from here and have always been happy-- but this is just AWFUL!!! Directions are undecipherable--I did manage to put it together just using some common sense however it is very wobbly and unstable. Won't stand completely upright without alot of patience and then when you go to pull the switch that knocks it back out of alignment. It does light up but looks extremely cheap and poorly manufactured. I thought about using my soldering gun or good ole' duct tape to try and make it at least usable but really its overall appearance isn't worth any effort. Maybe I got a "bad" one--I don't know, but I DO NOT recommend anyone wasting their $ or time on this.
