first time user (kjh1011, Lincoln, NE, 2008-08-01)

My first time using a pressure cooker, this made it so simple and the food came out perfectly each time.. I used alot of crock pot cooking in the past, however it takes almost all day to cook... I just simply took my main coarse of meat out of the freezer added in all of the ingredients of my recipe, set the timer had to add some time but it was so simple to do, I didnt have to stand over a hot stove nor wait all day with my slow cooker... What a nice product and the quality of it is outstanding as well as the design... Love it! I have one question does anyone know if you can do canning in this particular model?.. I suppose I could, but I am not to sure on that one.. As I am just getting into the whole canning concept... I was used to the older cast iron skillets and such alot of out doors cooking and smoking turkey's etc., this pressure cooker thing is all knew to me.... I loved the fact that it has the safety pressure gage, I tried to open it too soon but it wouldnt allow me to open it, and of course than it rings a bell... hummm probably not suppose to, that is why the lid wouldnt come off for me, nice safety feature especially for some of us just starting out of the whole pressure cooker concept... Like myself... Thats why I gave it a 5 star ... I would definetly recommend this product to all the first time users of a pressure cooker...

Wolfgang Puck 5 Qt Pressure Cooker (Ankat321, Duluth, MN, 2008-01-19)

I really like this pressure cooker, but the manual that comes with it is confusing and doesn't tell you the pounds pressure. I have previously used the old jiggle-top pressure cookers on the stove, so I was confused as to how this "second generation" top worked. If you're used to an "old fashioned" cooker, the top will seem loose, but somehow it tightens as the heat comes up. I am disappointed that the manual doesn't list pounds pressure--- it just says that the pressure is variable between 12-14 pounds, depending on the program that you choose (rice, vegtables, meat, etc.) A CHART listing the pounds pressure by program would have gone a long way towards helping me figure out timing for old favorite recipes! So, for that I'll need to do some experimentation. But, as far as looking good on the counter & working well unattended, this product rocks!

Very well worth the money (Sofismom, Vegas Babe, 2008-04-23)

Looks great - has multiple functions, cuts cooking time to half. No issue with the unit (my issue is more on the use of electricity knowing that the price for that is climbing up) Concept is that of a regular rice cooker and they added the pressure cooking to it (very bright idea indeed). Meat was tender - originally using my regular pressure cooker - it would have taken me an hour to pressure cook the beef, with this it took only 30 minutes (10 minutes to get it to the right pressure and 20 to cook it on auto timer). You will not be disappointed with this product...It is refurbished but did not show any signs of that at all. I bought the warranty just to be sure (what's a few bucks for your peace of mind....)

nice item, but not standardized (msahner, PA, 2008-07-17)

I am generally happy with this stockpot/pressure cooker, but would make a different choice if I were to buy again. It is not standard in any way and I have to put time into figuring out how to translate recipes from my pressure cooker cookbooks. Also, it does not use the newer pressure cooker technology and is NOT suitable for cooking beans and certain whole grains under pressure. This was the primary reason I had wanted a pressure cooker. You can cook beans using the glass rice cooker lid, but there's no time saved. Despite my disappointment with the design, this cooker works well and has quickly become useful in my tiny kitchen.

Wolfgang Puck 5-quart Electric Pressure Cooker (Jendo65, Indiana, 2008-03-16)

I've only used the pressure cooker twice and had great results with both. I made ribs that were excellent. I purchased a recipe book at the same time of ordering the cooker. I'm glad I did because there is not much to the one that comes with it. I can't rate completely fair because I'm not certain of durability. I purchased based on others reviews compared to different brands on different sites and this brand was always positive. It is so easy to use and certainly quickens making meals. The first one I received was dented on arrival and Overstock quickly replaced it without any hassle. That was greatly appreciated.
