Partial to themes from Roman mythology and classic English poets such as Keats and Tennyson, John William Waterhouse aptly captured emotion, tension and drama in his paintings. Much of Waterhouse style has been imitated and has had a strong influence on modern animation and film. La Belle Dame Sans Merci is based on the poem by John Keats by the same name. The Lady of Shalott also illustrates lines from a by Alfred Lord Tennyson poem also by the same name.

I read the reviews before making my purchase and I am happy to say they were all right! These are really well done. They are very good quality canvas re-productions. They really do look like small paintings. The colors are gorgeous and do justice to Waterhouse's amazing pieces. The frames are really beautiful and compliment the canvas very well. They arrived well packaged, which was nice because not everything I've received from overstock always is. I will definitly be purchasing more art from overstock!

This set was the best purchase that I have made here. These took my breath away when I opened them. I would love anything by Waterhouse as he is one of my favorite artists. But, the quality is superb. It looks like I own the originals. These would cost 5 times this price anywhere else. Buy these if you love fine art !!!!
