Amazing! (fegters, Houston, TX, 2008-01-11)

I heard Oprah raving about this book for a month or more now, so I picked it up and read it. It is all the rave was about and more. The book is very well written and Ken Follet describes the characters so well that you can not only picture them, but you can smell them. I have read alot of books... This one has to be the best book I have ever read... and it isn't the typical genre that I like to read. This book captivated me from the very first sentance to the very last. I read this 974 page book in 8 days... and I have two kids to take care of. I carried this book with me everywhere... room to room... whatever... just so that I could sneak in another paragraph if nothing more. I never wanted to put this book down at all. If I could have I would have done nothing else but read this book all day long... and when it was over, I didn't want it to end. As soon as I finished it, I began reading the second book, A World Without End, and so far it is just as good as the first. Both books are totally a must read.

I only started reading this book a week ago and I have already read more than half-- and it's a hefty book. I bought it because of Oprah's raves about it but I was skeptical that I would enjoy it. However, the book is very entertaining and I find myself enthralled in the story. I've been getting to work very tired because I can't help wanting to stay up late reading.

I had been wanting to read this book for a while and finally ordered a copy last month. My only regret is that I didn't get to it sooner! What a great read! I just ordered "World Without End"and am anxiously awaiting its arrival.
