Happy With Voodoo Knives (lblico, , 2008-01-08)
 
This set was exactly as I expected it would be between seeing it in person in the past and reading other reviews. I wish it wasn't plastic, but it still looks great and the quality is good. One thing I wasn't aware of and like is that there's magnets in the knife slots, so that when you take a stab at the 'doll', the knives sit at the top of their slots. The knives are fine- and compared to our completely blunt hand-me-downs, they're awesome. They will do just fine until we get some higher-end ones, even then we'll probably only replace the chef's knife [which will fit in this]- possibly a couple others- and keep the old ones around. Overstock.com had the best price at the time, and I would buy from them again.

Not only would I recommend this, I bought another to send to MY EX! I purchased them for the funny factor but the knives are sturdy (need a little sharpening-if I were a chef I probably wouldn't throw out my other knives...) and well made as is the stand. It looks terrific on my kitchen counter. Arrived quickly and in perfect condition. No complaints.

This is a fun product and the knives are of decent quality. It is most definitely a talking point and everyone who comes into my kitchen laughs and makes a comment. The base (figure) is made of a kind of flimsy plastic and I do wonder how long it will last... But it is fun and makes me smile every time I use it!!!

I bought this more for the humor and conversational aspect of the piece. It is hilarious The knives appear to be of adequate quality, although I haven't put them to much strenuous use. Bought one for friend also who was also delighted by the humor and brashness.

I too already had a set of knives but had to have this because of the original and amusing design. It is a lot bigger than I thought it would be and takes up quite a bit of counter space but I love it! It totally makes a statement and the knives are nice too!
