Great Product! (CareProvider, Virginia, 2008-04-21)

I am so happy to be able to purchase another great quality "made in the USA" product. This "half rail" is made with heavy, well made and enamel coated, strong metal pieces which were individually wrapped in protective cellophane and arrived in a sturdy box.I was pleased that the shipping was extremely fast, even though I chose the normal $2.95 shipping ... thank you Overstock! Arrived within three business days of purchase. We used the rail for several days without attaching the safety strap just to make sure we had the railing in the right position. Even without the strap the mattress and the weight of the individual seemed to keep it in place quite well.I was pleasantly surprised that the straps were high quality "webbing" straps and not some cheap type of bungy cording. Plenty of length to secure the bar onto the side of a double bed frame. Another feature I liked is that you can adjust how far the support bar goes under the mattress.This railing was purchased over other brands because of the legs which I felt would provide greater stability. The individual I purchased this for actually leaned against the safety rail the first night and it held him in the bed all night. He loves that it gives him more stability when getting into and out of the bed. My only complaint would be regarding instructions....(1) There are no instructions provided for putting the railing together.... (2) Instructions were included for the straps but they were a bit lengthy and confusing. I had to print a picture of the completed bed rail off the internet in order to assemble the pieces correctly. My recommendation would be that the company include a single instruction sheet with a diagram of the pieces for easier installation. Regardless....I highly recommend this product for any home caregiver.
