Heaven...i'm in heaven... (SoCalSally, Southern California, 2008-08-11)
 
I bought this set to update and old full size bed that I had temporarily inherited. I only needed a bed for a few months, and did not want to purchase a whole new one so I decided to try this out. I also purchased the synthetic down cover also available on overstock to go with it. Oh My Gosh. Best sleep ever! I have owned a $5000 mattress set and let me tell you...the free full sized bed with the inexpensive addition of this topper (and cover), were even better than the expensive bed. This old full sized mattress I inherited seemed to almost sink a little in the middle and I could even almost feel the springs. With this topper on however, I had problems getting up in the morning because I felt almost comatose. I would sometimes literally wake up with a smile. Unfortunately I had already promised to give this "free" bed away after I was done using it, and along with it I gave away my topper and synthetic down cover. I did not want to deny another human being this amazing experience, so I sadly said goodbye to the best sleep ever. The pillows by the way ended up being really great. I had previously sworn by these latex pillows you can also purchase on overstock (which are still great for air travel and to stick in between your legs if a side sleeper), but for my head I now use the serta pillows exclusively. They tend to sink at just the right level with the mattress topper. My husband has also ditched his shabby old pillows for the new sertas. I now live in Germany and actually ordered this product in King size and brought it with me on my last flight. The mattresses in Germany are so uncomfortable, so even though I had purchased a brand new mattress I just had to have this foam topper as well. My German husband slept fine before, but even he had to admit the new memory topper (and pillows) are the best sleep he's ever had. Do not think twice...buy this product. Note: My full topper did seem a little smaller than my full sized bed, so if this might bother you, you might want to consider ordering a size larger and cutting it down. The King I had to cut down anyway because the bed sizes in the States and Germany are different anyway.

We have a Queen size pillowtop mattress set and I ordered the California King size topper. I had read other reviews that the toppers run small and to order a size up for a correct fit to cover the entire mattress. Other reviewers were absolutely right and I'm happy I ordered the largest size topper. The Serta 2 inch memory foam topper and pillows arrived timely and were not damaged in shipping. We removed the packaging materials and unrolled the foam topper. Take care and be patient in unrolling the foam. If you become impatient unrolling the foam, the foam might tear but our topper did not tear. One side of our foam topper was a little pilly but it didn't present much problem, just noticable when unrolling. We left the unrolled foam topper in a spare room for less than a week to allow for any odors to dissipate. However, I really could not even smell much odor when I first received and unrolled this foam mattress topper. As for better sleep, I do feel that the memory foam mattress topper has improved my sleep. I do not wake up with stiffness, soreness and I feel more rested. I slept on one of the memory foam pillows but was not that impressed. I did not have any "adjustment time" to the memory foam mattress topper as some reviewers have reported. We have no problem turning or moving at night when sleeping on the memory foam. However, with the memory foam pillows that came with the topper, I actually woke up with more stiffness in my neck than I ever did sleeping on a regular pillow. So we use the memory foam pillows for our 18 month old son to lie on when he's on the floor and he seems to like them. I used the excess memory foam from the California King size mattress topper under the sheet on our son's toddler bed. The excess foam from the California King topper was just enough for his toddler bed. Our son seems to like sleeping on memory foam as well.

This topper is great but there are a few things you should know. First, if you can buy the next size up, do so. I have a queen and bought the king topper. The topper we received is perfectly square so when we put it on the bed it was too wide and too short. If we had gotten the queen topper, it may have fit side to side, but more than likely would have been even shorter. I am a tall person and need every inch I can get. I am sure I made the right decision in increasing the size. You can always cut off the extra, but you can't add to. Second, it may take several nights to get used to sleeping on this topper. It was painful for me to sleep on it for about the first week but I kept sleeping on it and my body did adjust. Now I sleep better and deeper, I hurt less, and I feel far more refreshed when I wake up than I did without the topper. Finally, if you sleep on your side, you may want to consider a 3-inch topper. I love to sleep on my side, but the pressure of my old mattress really causes hip pain. My two inch topper relieves most of that pressure, but I can still feel my regular mattress under it, so I still occasionally have slight hip pain. I think the extra inch would alleviate the remaining pressure from my old mattress. Overall, this topper is one of the best purchases I have ever made. The price was great and the quality is good. For a great night's sleep, the overall value is incredible!

My husband and I both suffer from back problems and bought this topper for our bed after sleeping on my parents $3,000 memory foam mattress. We were wanting to buy the actual mattress set, but $3,000 is not in our price range. I had searched online and found other mattress toppers at a few big name retailers, but the toppers themselves were no name and not getting very good reviews. I found this one and thought for the price there is no way it would be as good as was claimed to be. I bought it hoping it would at least be better than our spring mattress but didn't expect much. After one night on the Serta topper we both felt so much better and have now had the topper for about a month and both swear it was the best investment we've made! The price is unbelievable and the quality superior! My mom actually likes our topper more than her mattress and is now planning on ordering a topper for each of my five siblings as birthday or Christmas presents!! Definitely well worth the money! The topper did come out of the package with a strong smell of chemicals that I was afraid would not go away, but after about a week the smell was totally gone and our sleepless nights are now heaven! A definite sleep saver and well worth the money!

Wow! Instant comfort. Totally changed and transformed our high end pillow top King mattress. For the money, this thing can't be beat. All other similar products are much higher in price. It fits perfect. The hardest thing about the product is laying it out and watching it air out because of the strong smell from production and packaging, and it not being on your bed where a great nights sleep is just around the corner! I would recommend at least 2-3 days of airing out on a flat surface, then maybe some Febreeze. The first time you sleep on it you will probably still smell something you are not used to, but it slowly goes away. It's certainly not strong enough to disturb sleep, but nonetheless a hint of aroma. I would assume letting it air out even longer would take care of this, but if you haven't had a good nights sleep in a while, it is really hard to not throw this thing on the bed right out of the package! Good luck! :-) FYI: The free pillows that come with the set are very small, contoured, and are too hard for us fluffy huge pillow people. But would probably be loved by somebody in the fam. with other pillow criteria! All in all this whole deal is AWESOME! I haven't slept like this in a long long time!
