Fit the Bill (Chester001, Woodbine, MD, 2008-08-01)

I ordered these stools for my kitchen. I wanted to buy stools for my island where my stovetop is located. The first set I received was defective but I put together the second set last night and all was fine. I wish the stools were about an inch higher but they'll work fine. The 29 inch stools would have been too big. They tuck nicely under the island so no one will trip over them. I put felt strips on the ends and they slide nicely without potentially damaging my floor. I'm also ok with the distressed appearance on the seat area. My girlfriend and I put the chairs together in about 30 minutes. I used a tool similar to the one that came with it so we could both work on them at the same time. I did use a rubber mallet to secure the pegs that fill the holes. No glue was needed. I'm happy with the purchase and my first experience with Overstock was good.

Perfect for all (dgilman, Katy Tx, 2008-05-12)

We love these barstools. I purchased them for our kitchen island and they look great. The look is perfect in the dark walnut with my dark granite counters and rustic tile. They are the perfect height and great for the grandkids and the adults. They are very comfortable and sturdy. I did put felt furniture pads on the bottom of the legs, so they would move quitely over the tile floors, as my grandson slides them around the kitchen to reach his treats is the pantry. These are super, the tool provided to put together could use an upgrade, you just have to be patient. The finished product is worth it !!

these stools are the perfect height for an island of the same height as traditional kitchen counters. they tuck nicely under my counter when not in use and are quite solid. i had a hard time assembling them but my son-in-law had no problems...must be an age/gender thing. i was not satisfied with my original order. 3 of 4 stools were great, the 4th didn't look as good because wood filler was obviously used on the seat. when i contacted the service department, i was sent a SET of replacement stools - 2 more. i really appreciate the great service!

After buying huge padded counter stools I didnt think Id be comfortable on these . Boy was I was pleasantly surprized These are fantastic .They are comfortable and fit so much better at my counter and they dont take up valuable space in my small kitchen Everyone fights over them . I purchased 4 but might have to order 2 more so everyone can have one. My only complaint is the color ..They said they were oak but in fact they are a knotty pine in color .They really dont match my new oak kitchen but Ill sacrifice style for the convience and comfort

Great Value (CTBDE, FL, 2008-02-18)

These stools are very sturdy, attractive and easy to assemble. I had seen similar stools for twice the price and was about to purchase them when these stools were featured on Overstock.com. They arrived within a few days in perfect condition. The directions for assembly are very clear and easy to follow. With a screwdriver and the hex wrench (which was included with the hardware) I was able to assemble both benches by myself in no time! If you're looking for "no frills", sturdy benches/barstools, order these. They're an excellent value.
