makes life easier!! (DEJL, Florida, 2008-02-06)

I have always dreaded the chore of ironing (who doesn't?), but, as a working professional had to either iron my own clother, or put up with expensive trip to the dry cleaner. Then I came across the Smartek Steamer ST-X2 while shopping at my facorite store. It's the wrinkle - removing steamer that the professionals use, and it has literally changed my life. No longer do I have to haul out the ironing board - now, in just minutes, I effortlessly steam away wrinkles, and my clothes look dry-cleaner fresh. Everyone needs one of these in their home. This is a fantastic piece of equipment. I researcahed steamers for weeks before purchasing, and finally settled on this one becaused it had the best reviews. They were well deserved! This product takes less than 2 minutes to produce lots of steam. The metal hook where you hang your garment is sturdy, allowing for better steaming, and it is easy to remove and fill the water container. Also, this removes wrinkles after one slow swipe with the steamin wand. THANK YOU OVERSTOCK FOR MAKING MY LIFE SOOOO MUCH EASIER!!!!

I was excited to get this product but very disappointed when I tried it. There was hardly any steam coming out - very feeble and I had no control over when or how much steam was dispensed. It was very ineffective and frustrating. The hose seemed to get pinched - it was difficult to position it so that the steam flowed freely. I used to have a little inexpensive steamer that worked much, much better - I could press a button and powerful steam would come out, when I wanted it and where I wanted it. With this item (much more expensive) I could not control the steam and there was very little of it. I sent this back the day after I received it.

Stick to ironing (chakalike, NY, 2008-01-07)

Bought for the Wife for x-mas. I tried to use it after I set it up. Construction is very nice. I thought it would be "cheaper" according to previous reviews. Not the case. Steamed up nice but hose kept kincking. Could be because I never used one. Awefull start-up smell, hopefully because it is new. Will use for curtains and delicates, thatsabout it.but My wife will prob use it in tandem with iron.

Great gadget, but hose could be a foot longer. (jel1955, Falls Church, VA, 2008-03-16)

I am sold on steaming my clothes rather than ironing them. I have figured out how to iron the details and then steam the rest of my shirts, and it takes me about half the time it used to take. My only quibble with the product is that the steam hose could be about one foot longer and it would make using the machine that much easier.

it broke already (pednik, pa, 2008-05-17)

I used it three times and on the third time the on/off switch broke. It popped out and the small parts came apart. It was useless after this. I have never had anything break like this. I hope it was a fluke, but I am not using this brand again. I am shopping for another brand of steamer.
