Prevention Blood Pressure Monitor - wrist (LeslieinMarietta, metro atl, 2008-01-06)

For this type of monitor to work on you or your loved one, I think you first have to determine if wrist monitors work well for you in general. I was giving this as a gift to my father, and since I knew he had used wrist monitors in the past, I wasn't worried about it. Since it was Xmas, shipping took a while - others had it for a similar price, but the shipping was outrageous. When I recieved it, I took it out of the box to test it. I found that it was rolled up in a clear acrylic container (which is apparently the storage container). I didn't really like that, but it does its job. I was impressed by its accurate reading on me. It appeared to pick up my signal very well, even though its sometimes thready in my wrists. It is reasonably quick -and, of course, not uncomfortable. I don't know how it would be for the extremely overweight, however. The instructions are not that intuitive - that's the only thing I worried about (my dad doesn't read instructions!). Once he recieved it, he was very impressed with it, it worked as well as his doctor's bpm on him, but he struggled with the instructions a little and finally my fiance had to program it for him. Would I recommend it? Yes, I would. I think the most important aspect of a bpm is the accuracy - and it works extremely well for a wrist monitor. However, I would say that wrist monitors don't work for everyone, so please take that into consideration when making your purchase. One note: you do have to be able to hold your arm up in the air for a few seconds(for the best possible reading), so if you or your loved one is unable to do so, then perhaps you would be better off with another monitor.

Good Product (tadoman, RI, 2008-03-10)

I was able to use the product with out reading the instructions, which is what I like the most. I put it around my wrist, press the button and it works. I brought it to my doctors and it was within 5% of what he manually read my BP to be. Which he said was good. Also, it doesn't fluctuate widely when I take my BP more than once in the same sitting. I don't use the memory. Just not interested. Overall I'm happy with the product.

Great ease in use (valflan, Boston MA, 2008-01-05)

I was very happy with the ease of use. You can clearly see the screen and the readouts are easily read. I was surprised how quickly it arrived especially since I ordered it so close to the holidays. My only concerns was a mark or piece of lint of some sort underneath the glass and there was no way to remove it. Just a little annoying but not worth sending back.

Great new tool for me! (FloridaKathy, Crestview, FL, 2008-01-04)

I was told recently by my doctor to monitor my blood pressure and this wrist cuff make the task very convenient. Who can go somewhere daily to have their pressure taken? Now I can do it at home. Great value and easy to use! And I can record my numbers later from the memory if I don't have time to write them down every time. Love the compact design, too!

Validated monitor in Doctor's office (drenhcer, Albuquerque, NM, 2008-01-15)

I purchased this for my parents who both have high blood pressure. They like the fact that they both can use the monitor and it will remember their previous reading so they can track how they are doing. In addition they took it with them to a doctor's visit and it had the same reading as the doctor's machine. Highly recommend.
