Excellent Rug Saver! (BeccaLovesGreatDeals, Alpharetta, GA, 2008-04-23)

I purchased this Mat to go under a rug that I recently also purchased on Overstock. The mat works nicely helping to provide a more cushy feel underfoot. I am very pleased that I purchased this mat instead of the many other lightweight mats that do not provide as much protection for the rug or provide the cushy feel that most people want with their rugs. I would highly recommend this product. I do, however, recommend that anyone who purchases this rug get a friend/ spouse/ significant other to help them with the cutting to size of the mat. It's great that it is a bit oversized as not all rugs come in one size; however, cutting it without someone and positioning it without someone else's help is nearly impossible.

I got this rug pad after reading the tons of positive reveiws and what i found was that it was extremely overrated. 1. I wanted the thickest pad possible as I wanted to make my carpet feel softer and thicker and according to some of the reviews it was rated as 1/2 inch thick and very heavy to move due to this. what i got was no where near 1/2 inch and I am a female with a BMI of 20 who moved it alone. 2. it was the most expensive rug pad offered so i am dissapointed as i expected more. 3. it does make my carpet feel slightly thicker underfoot but not alot. 4. i would recommend this if someone needs only minimally increased thickness and is looking more for the non-slip purpose.

I wondered how the rug would be since it was at such a bargain price, but when we unrolled it into the family room - we were pleasantly surprised. We bought the black background rug and it fit beautifully in the room. It feels comfy underfoot and the pile is dense. The pad we bought was a couple of notches up from the least expensive, but it really adds to the comfort of the rug. We love what it does for the room! It just finishes it off beautifully. It now feels very stylish and welcoming. I would buy another one in a New York minute, if I needed one. I'm prospecting for a place to put one.... Judy

Didn't expect it make a difference (cometoaz, phoenix az, 2008-05-12)

I ONLY bought this because of the other feedback. I bought this when I bought a large area rug. I have a tile floor and bought a nice rug that I didn't think would need a pad, howevver I knew once I put it down I'd never put a pad down afterwards. what a difference! the rug is nice, this makes a huge difference in the depth of the appearance and dimension as well as comfort. My husband really complained about the extra spent on it, but since we put them both down, he lies on the floor more often than sitting in the furniture. it adds tothe comfort and protects the rug

Good rug pad for the money (mcbIL, IL, 2008-05-29)

I previously purchased the Superior Rug Pad 8' circle, and this Premium Rug Pad is very similar in thickness. (When I did the online chat with an Overstock Customer Service rep to find out what the difference between the Superior and Premium rug pad was, he said that the Premium has a longer warrantee.) I have not yet used this pad under a rug (is on order), but the 9'x12' Premium rug pad is a good cushion, was slightly larger than that rug (but easy enough to trim with scissors), and does not have any sort of smell.
