Story Behind the Art:

On an island in the Caribbean, a single mountain preserves the world's only source of Larimar - one of the newest and rarest gemstones. Generations of island villages depend on Larimar for their livelihood. They extract the stone by hand, releasing each precious blue gem from an armor of weatherd basalt. MarahLago designs cuts and polishes every creation to suit the individual color, shape and pattern of each distinctive gem.

Superb Ring (bonnielu, Maryland, 2008-01-26)

I don't usually write reviews but this one item was so wonderful that I must comment. It is a substantial piece weightwise, beautifully designed and artisan crafted. It looks well beyond its price. I was so pleased that I tore the plastic, put it on and am still wearing it. It is ME. Did I mention the nice piece of Larimar. I sized up one size because of the band width if that helps anyone select a size.

I really like this ring... comfortable to wear, even though it is a big, bold ring. Color of the larimar is really pretty, too. I have gotten compliments on it, and the price is great. I recommend maybe ordering a size or at least half a size larger... I ordered to originally wear on my middle finger, but find it fits my ring finger better.

Ladies, do not hesitate to puchase this artistic, cool ring. It has become one of my favorites, (and I own lots and lots of rings). The stone is beautiful, reminding me of the carribean sea. The band is so unique I've never seen a design like it. Bold, very comfortable to wear, and all around just a knock out ring! clgoehler

Love this ring! (Pillars, Iowa, 2008-02-20)

I recently went on a cruise and discovered Larimar, I was so happy to see that Overstock had this beautiful ring offered, it's been hard to find. The ring is very comfortable and I've received a lot of compliments on it. It is rather large, it goes almost up to my knuckle. I love it!

This ring is so beautiful and different! Everyone wants to know where I got it. The only problem I find, because the sides are wide, the ring marks up very easy.I'm sure with a little a polish the marks will go away. If you are looking for a unique ring - don't wait!
