Accentuate your home's decor with The Accolade framed canvas collection by Edmund Blair Leighton.

A Pre-Raphaelite painter from London, Leighton's passions were Medieval scenes, romantic moments between lovers, and selections from historical events. The son of a painter, many of his paintings depict a story or associates itself with a significant tale or legend. Leighton had a particular attention to the story element within each work he created. Exquisite detail flushes out his compositions making the painting feel alive.

Painted in 1900, 'Godspeed' is sometimes referred to 'As A Lady's Favour'. It's current location is unknown. 'The Accolade' was painted in 1901 and now hangs in a private collection.

Both selections include a sculpted frame with gentle engravings designed to emphasize the art. The frames also include a wooden liner with a subtle fillet. The frame color is black with a rich antique gold as an accent.

I've admired these paintings for a long time. This type of artwork was a very economical way to add them to the home decor. The color of the frames go well with the other colors in the room. If you compare, they are much more expensive elsewhere. The only flaw was a slight smear on the black part of the frame but, I'm quite happy with the purchase.

I had admired these prints for some time and I was thrilled when I found this set on Overstock at such a great price. They are great reproductions on canvas and were exactly as described.
