Good value (PCD1, Connecticut, 2008-06-03)

I bought this primarily as a lens protector, since the newer DSLR sensors aren't as sensitive to UV light as film was. The price was right - about 50% off the retail at a couple of online camera places I checked before ordering. Hoya is a good name in filters, although I'm sure this isn't their top-of-the-line model. Item was as described, and I was pleased. I'm giving Image Quality only 4 stars because using an UV filter has the potential to degrade an image, although I personally have not experienced any problems with using one on any of my lenses.

Does the job well (igirl, 6 handicap - California, 2008-06-14)

This isn't the greatest piece of glass ever made, but it does the job inexpensively and should be just fine for all but the most important shoots (when you wouldn't want to put anything in between your lens and your subject anyway). Can't beat it for the price/value.
