These magnificent hand-painted leather and wood jewelry boxes are constructed of wood and then completely covered with leather, both inside and out. The piece boasts a flip-open top, with a brass clasp on the front which can be secured with a lock (lock not included)The inside leather is meticulously hand-painted with various Chinese symbols and characters. The outside leather is dyed gold, then hand-painted with one of four designs: children playing, birds sitting in a tree, two dragons, or a dragon with a phoenix.

Gave this to my son's girlfriend with a little something inside, she loved it. I was a little disappointed with the decorations on the outside, hard to make out what it was supposed to be. But, overall, good value and she was happy which was important.
