So Wonderful (mikeinLA, Baton Rouge, LA, 2008-01-11)

The Garmin Streetpilot C340 is everything I could have ever expected from a GPS unit. I bought it for my fiancee who is moving to a new city to marry me. Plug and Play is an understatement. I took it out of the box, plugged it in and attached it to my windshield and it was immediately ready to start leading me anywhere I wanted to go. I love the 3D viewing option and the interface is very user-friendly. We've also enjoyed playing around with the different English dialects that you can choose from for the voice-guided feature. I was a little disappointed that, even though it came with the latest available software, the preloaded points of interest did not include most of the recent development of subdivisions and shopping centers that have sprung up over the past several years in my city. This means less spontaneity, but all you need is a street address and you're back in business. You can also save the new addresses in your favorites for later. I also want to say that Overstock.com had the best price available anywhere and that the product arrived VERY quickly. Thanks Overstock!

Garmin 340 (TravelTN, Tennessee, 2008-01-07)

Product is of high quality and truly plug-and-play. We live and travel in rural America (dirt and gravel road rural), and find it to be accurate about 95% of the time. Once in a while the addresses are wrong but I suspect this is due to data entry errors on e-911 operators, or whoever is entering street data. The device is easy to set up, easy to use and very convenient. We especially like the "arrival time" feature. This unit audibly tells you the name of the street you will be turning onto next. Many others, though they display the street name, only audibly state the distance and whether you are turning left or right. The only compaint would be the windshield attachment. The suction cup attaches very securely. This is good if you do not want to change vehicles, but if you do want to change vehicles, it is very difficult to remove the suction cup. We have heard of a popular "bean bag" used to "rest" the device in and move from car to car. We will probably find and purchase something like this.

Great Unit for the Price - Recommend it (NYNick, New York City, 2008-01-11)

I had bought my girlfriend this unit as part of her Christmas present and she loves it. The ease of use as well as the good graphics and voice to text directions, the POI (Points of Interest) provide her with an added level of security when she is driving to an unknown destination. Bluetooth would have been a great feature, but since she has an ear piece, it is not necessary. Right now she has not had a need for it so she has not yet accessed the real time traffic feature. There is an additional cost for the unit as well as monthly fees after the first year, so unless she really feels it is vital, she will not do so. There are some rare "dead spots" when the GPS cannot access the signal, but those are the same areas where I cannot a signal from my factory installed XM car radio so it is not the fault of the unit.. It is also worth purchasing the travel case, since it pads the unit and makes carrying both the unit and cradle easier.

Works. Simply works (NotLostNow, Hampton Roads, VA, 2008-01-12)

This is a great piece of technology! I often make the drive on 64West in Virginia to 95 North into Maryland and there is often some mishap that causes a traffic pileup. I can just jump off the road at my first opportunity and I don't have to stop and read a map to figure out how to get back to my destination. It's not intrusive and it allows me to go where I want to go. One nice thing: Suppose you stop for gas. You turn off your vehicle and the Street Pilot goes off too. You fill up and start on your way again and it remembers to pick up where it left off. Streets are clearly labeled, so if you are driving in an unfamiliar area, it actually helps you learn a bit about your surroundings. Usage is very intuitive. I didn't have to look at the owners manual to figure out how to use it. The only knock I have against it is it's off by about 80 feet! Not bad at all!

Garmin StreetPilot c340 GPS Navigator (hebsmo, Houston, TX, 2008-01-08)

I had a headstart when I made my purchase. It was for a friend and he told me specifically what he wanted in a navigation system. He wanted a Garmin and wanted it to be removeable so he could use it in different vehicles. So I purchased the Garmin StreetPilot c340 GPS Navigator. It was perfect! My friend showed me how to install the navigation system and also how it works. It seemed simple enough to me. He used the Garmin recently on a trip and it took him directly to his hotel in a different city. We both used the Garmin to find a repair shop that was rather inconveniently located. I'm glad he thought of that instead of writing down tons of directions we were getting. Overall, the Garmin was a big hit and I am thinking of getting one for myself!
