Blocks light and looks great! (SleepyInCambridge, Cambridge MA, 2008-05-04)

After reading other reviews on Overstock, I bought two pairs of these curtains for a bedroom that faces out onto the street. Despite the light color of these curtains, they are very effective at blocking out the street lights that usually filter right into the bedroom, and the room is now almost pitch black when the curtains are drawn at night. The beige looks great against the ash blue color on the walls (ala Candice Oleson's Divine Design!). The fabric is of good quality and looks very high end. Also, I don't think this was mentioned elsewhere, but there are two ways of putting up these curtains - by putting the rod through the rod pocket, or the hidden tabs (I preferred the latter since it made drawing the curtains a little easier). Overall I think this was a really good purchase and would happily recommend it to others.

Nice Drapes (Sharon1963, Montana, 2008-04-07)

The material is very soft and wonderful and they hang nicely. Upon opening from package they were virtually wrinkle-free and upon hanging, the few wrinkles completely disappeared. I ordered these drapes in the beige color. Unfortunately, they do not completely block out the light....there is a beige hue that still comes through, and it is NOT due to only the dotted pattern. I have re-ordered these drapes in black and plan to spice them up by hanging them directly onto the windows, then hanging something pretty on top of them to disguise and hide some of the black. I will re-hang the beige drapes elsewhere in the house. If you truly need to block out all light, you will need to order black or navy!

Beautiful curtains (swbabe, Glendale, CA, 2008-04-29)

These curtains were very nice and doubly so because there is both a tab and a pocket so you have the option how you want to hang them. I'm looking at the hem because I need them to be an inch or so closer to the floor, and it looks like I might be able to take out the hem and let them down. I ordered beige and and got a darker beige than I hoped for, but the stars on the print don't stand out if you are a couple of feet away. My LR has a bright street light that shows in the window, so the curtains don't completely black out the light. The room has several windows and there is a lot of normal light and the curtains would probably be pretty good without the street light situation.

They Definitely Help! (Juleeann, Elgin, IL, 2008-08-06)

I live in a 3rd floor condo and my bedroom faces due east. When the sun comes up it's as if someone is shining a searchlight directly into my window. Plus, my bedroom is on a busy street with traffic, street lights and ,traffic lights. The curtains make a HUGE difference at night blocking out light and have really improved my sleep. They have also made some difference in the morning, but I don't think anything can block out as much sun as I get. I'm actually thinking about getting another pair and doubling up. The curtains also keep my bedroom much cooler and I'm not running the air conditioner as much. The curtains are attractive, thick and well made. I'd buy again!

Fantastic Curtains (RhondaElaine, North Carolina, 2008-03-22)

I love these curtains! When you order a burgandy color, you never know the exact hue you will receive, but this color is royal looking. The fine fabric quality is much more than I expected, and the value is great. I washed and dried them before use, because I don't like the new smell of fabric. They came out of the dryer looking like they had been ironed, all the fold lines were gone. These curtains not only look beautiful, they keep out all light for a great night's sleep. They also keep out the cold air, and I suspect they will insulate against the hot sun this summer. I HIGHLY recommend the Thermal Blackout Curtains.
