I bought this cuisinart coffee maker as I was looking for a machine that would grind beans also. I used to have a Melitta coffee maker before that for several few years. I am surprised that cuisinart would put such a product on the market, especially when they sold well over $150 new. There are far too many flimsy plastic parts that will break fast. The tray for the filter is build too thin. Then there is the water filer that you need to switch out and buy through them. I bought this product refurbished, and I am glad of that. I can't imagine paying full price for this, I will not last. Buy the Melitta brand if you are looking for a grinder and coffee maker in 1. At least you will not have paid too much if it happens to break over the years.

Cuisinart Coffee Maker (JAM1966, Mesa, Arizona, 2008-04-26)
 
This is the 2nd one of the same type we've purchased on this site. I like the fact that it has the grinder and is fairly compact, yet still affordable. Considering that this coffee maker is used every day, guess it's no wonder the 1st one developed problems after about 4years. It failed to completely perk all the water through. So, we ordered another one just like the first. It fits on the kitchen counter taking up little room. We like the fact that it can be programed the night before when to come on....wake up and your first morning cup is waiting for you, whether freshly ground beans or already ground coffee. It cleans up easiily with not many parts that need to be disassembled. Hope we can get 5 years out of this new one!

Yes, I would and have recommended this coffee maker. This is the 3rd unit I have purchased. Mine is over a year old and still keeps the coffee as hot as the first day I used it. The other 2 units were ordered for friends. They reviewed them at a department store and were pleased at the price available through Overstock. It gets 4 stars as you need to be precise when setting up for brewing. I did remove the brew stop on the filter cup, as if not positioned correctly it will over run. Note; I am an avid coffee drinker and use the maker twice daily. I would purchase it again.

The Best Cup of Coffee (suzyapd, New Mexico, 2008-05-26)
 
We just love the coffee! This is my 3rd Cuisinart Grind & Brew coffeemaker purchase. The first two were double the price I paid for at Overstock. The grinder is a bit noisy, but not any noisier than a coffee grinder. I switched to another name brand grind & brew which was triple the price and after a week of horrible coffee, I went back to the Cuisinart. I like that this maker requires basket filters versus cone filters. Cone filters, I have found, leave a paper taste in the coffee. If you like a good cup of coffee and a good price, buy this one.

We bought 2 of these coffeemakers recently to replace 2 other Cuisinart coffeemakers we had previously bought from Overstock. Don't worry; they wore out from use; they were not defective. Considering that they are "refurbished" these coffeemakers last a long time. The added bonus? Freshly-ground coffee! I love not having to grind beans separately; this coffeemaker does a wonderful job. You won't regret buying this item; you are receiving a quality item for the price!
