Gets the Job Done (beartunes, Worcester, MA, 2008-07-06)

This product works fine and accomplishes what it says it does. I would suggest, you buy an additional bowl and keep it in the freezer. It's very important your ingrediants are as cold as possible (ie refrigerate your fruit mixtures and ice cream base after you make them for 2-3 hours before putting them into the frozen bowl and machine). Also, the bowl must freeze overnight. Sorbets taste best right out of the machine, even if they are soft. Ice cream is somewhat the opposite. Except the ice crystals. Either way, i enjoy this product. The heat from the turning drum sometimes makes the bowl melt faster though, and you will need a good rubber spatula to scrape the inside of the bowl out before it condensates and sticks to the bowl.

This has been one of the best purchases I've made for the kitchen in a while. I had a gift card to Overstock and decided to use it on something totally unnecessary. Now I can't see us getting through the summer without this wonderful ice cream maker. I've used a few of the recipees in the instruction book; ice cream and frozen yogurt. I mix the ingredients, pour them in the machine and sit down to dinner. By the time dinner is over we have dessert. This is such fun!! I keep the inner bowl in the freezer all of the time so we can make something without much delay. It works perfectly. I would have never guessed it was refurbished. I highly recommend this item.

I have wanted an ice cream maker for a long time and this one has been a dream! The ice cream tastes fantastic (used recipes that came along with machine) and is made in 20 - 25 minutes. No muss, no fuss! The product says it has been refurbished, but there are NO problems and it was packed just as a brand new machine. Wonderful machine and a fabulous price. Happy ice cream making!

Excellent value for the money (jackie0o, Boston, MA, 2008-07-27)

I'm really impressed with the capabilities of this machine. I use it to make sorbet only right now, but it's a workhorse, and can take the full capacity and crank out good product. One reviewed commented on scraping on the metal bowl. I use a nylon/plastic/something spatula and don't have that problem. (I gave it 4 in durability because I've only just started using it.)

Ice Cream Maker (didupar1, Chicago, 2008-08-27)

Very impressed with this product. Bought it for my 12 yr. old son who has no problem making ice cream without parental guidance. The first couple of batches of Oreo ice cream were delicious! Much better than any other ice cream maker we have purhcased and since thrown away.
