Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker (Foodsnobmom, Kent, OH, 2008-07-25)

If you've always been afraid to use a pressure cooker, then this is THE ONE you want! This isn't your mother's pressure cooker where you had to stay by the pot and listen for the ball to jiggle and things exploded out of the top! Just set the timer and go. Everything, and I mean everything comes out great in this pressure cooker. Once you figure out how to set the pressure valve, it's smooth sailing. The valve has a short stem coming out of it and it needs to be facing to the right side, parallel to the handle...the directions are not very clear. I also use my unit without the pressure. It has a browning, saute, simmer and keep warm feature that comes in handy. You can brown your meat in one pot, add your liquid, set the times and DONE! THe food comes out like it's been cooking in a crock pot all day but takes a fraction of the time. You can even put frozen meat in it! Just cook it a little longer. I use my pressure cooker several times of week. Fresh vegetables take no time at all and are bursting with flavor. I've cooked all kinds of meats in here, including turkey, chicken, pork roast, ribs, stew, roast beef....all delicious and cooked in about half an hour after the pressure is reached. Cook ribs in here and then put them on the grill with barbeque sauce and they are great. Soup is a must. Everyone loves my homemade soups in this. I've had a couple other pressure cookers but this is my favorite.
