Good, solid coffee table - a bit tricky to build (Kielb, Zionsville, IN, 2008-02-21)

We are very happy with the overall look of this coffee table. The wood tone is beautiful and very smooth. The wood itself is very sturdy. This is a substantial piece of furniture. Unfortunately, we should have measured a bit more carefully, as its height is a little greater then we anticipated - and, from what we have seen in furniture stores, the height seems a little greater then your average coffee table. Not by much, but just by enough to make it make it noticeable in our room arrangement. We followed the recommendation of another reviewer and obtained a rubber mallet for putting the table together. This was great advice and I would pass it on to anyone else who buys this table. Putting the table together was not too time consuming - with 2 of us working together, we got it together in an evening (maybe 3-4 hours total time?). The drawers proved tricky though. We had a couple that we couldn't get to close completely. After a couple of days of working with them and switching their placement around we seem to have fixed that issue. One issue that we can't seem to fix is a small split in the wood on the top of the table that has started to appear since we put it together. It doesn't seem to have grown any over the past month, but I am nervously keeping an eye on it.

Love the low cost shipping and comes fast, i think our came in only a few days. Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the product. The finsih is very attractive, although it does scratch easily with two young kids The wood is nice and heavy, solid feeling. It is taller than I expected, but I believe just my error in measuring. I think the price is good for the product, especially with the coupon I recieved in the mail just in time. That was nice. So my husband is a contractor, and a pretty good builder. He timed himself on assembly time, and it took him about an hour and 15 minutes, from opening the box to finishing touches, this is by himself with an electric screw gun. He was surprised at the moderate level of dificulty, and recomends definately having electric tools for the install. Thanks overstock, my first purchase with you was great!

I assembled it all by myself! (svekruha, Charlotte, NC, 2008-01-27)

I was a little wary of buying this table as quite a number of reviewers commented on some difficulties with assembly and/or unclear instructions. I guess, I got lucky. The item was delivered in perfect condition albeit not as fast as in some other cases (took about 2.5 weeks). There were, indeed, some discrepancies in the instructions between the drawings and the text but those appeared to be more like typos, ans a small dose of common sense easily resolved those. Not only have I (a 60 years old woman) put it together without any help, I did not even use any power tools. My ratchet screwdriver did most of the assembly just fine. I love the results even though I wouldn't mind having this item in a slightly lighter finish. My only regret is that this line of furniture does not include a TV stand. Thank you, Overstock!

Nice piece of furniture! (WasAToy2, Sacramento, CA, 2008-02-18)

Love this coffee table! The pieces were all intact and in perfect condition. Assembly is time consuming only because this is a well-constructed piece of furniture. Some of the reviews say the assembly instructions were unclear. I ran into problems because the metal drawer slides were not clearly explained in the booklet. Each piece is imprinted with CL, CR, DL and DR - I figured this meant Coffee table Left and Right and Drawer Left and Right. I was correct. The written instructions do not mention this, so I spent some time playing with the pieces before installing them. The instructions also call for a rubber mallet, a phillips-head screwdriver and 4mm hex wrench. USE A RUBBER mallet! It makes assembly much easier and you won't damage the wood. I am very happy with the purchase.

Great value- would buy again! (MelissaNew, Madison, WI, 2008-02-15)

This table is beautiful, very solid, and overall a wonderful buy. It would have cost much more at a furniture store. The color is as represented in the photos, which was exactly what we wanted. I bought 2 of the matching end tables also. I'm amazed at how heavy the table is- very good quality. Assembly is a bit time-consuming but I think some of the other reviewers were a bit overdramatic about it! If you're reasonably handy it will take about 2 hours with a power drill. When assembling, we noticed that one of the drawer front pieces was badly scratched. I e-mailed overstock, and they apologized and shipped me a new piece which I received within the week. No questions or hassles. I was very pleased with the customer service. Overall, a great buy! Highly recommend.
