CORTEX FLAT IRON (Dollie602, New York, NY, 2008-02-20)

I had just purchased the Blue Cortex flat Iron. I am not so pleased with it. I wish I could have gotten something else. Even thought it does not have much ratings, I went by the only rating I saw and trusted it's judgement. MY TURN OFF"S ARE THAT MY STRANDS OF HAIR WOULD GET CAUGHT AND BE PULLED BY THE EDGES OF THE HOT PLATES. ANOTHER THING I DID NOT LIKE WAS THAT WHEN THE FLAT IRON HEATS UP THE CERAMIC PLATES DONT CHANGE COLOR AND IT RELEASES A HORRIBLE SMELL . IT SMELLS LIKE HOT OIL OR GAS. THE POSITIVE FEEDBACK IS THAT I GOT IT SHIPPED TO ME IN 5 DAYS. IT HEATS UP REALLY FAST, AND IT GETS REALLY HOT. I HAVE WAVY HAIR AND IT TOOK ME 12 MIN TO GET IT PIN STREIGHT!!! & I LOVE THE COLOR ITS CUTE! & It;s Pretty DURRABLE. I LOVE THE NON-SLIP GRIPS.

Fantastic! (Furbin, Calgary, AB, Canada, 2008-01-24)

I was hesitant to buy this flat iron, as there's no reviews out there on it. But it works amazing!! It heats up fast, get's to 410 degrees, and only needs one pass over the hair to straighten the shaft. I'm glad I didn't spend any more $$ on a Chi, or other expensive ones. Now I guess the only test left is to see if it will out-last the warranty.
