leather shagg rug (ebmrnr, Dallas, TX, 2008-05-01)

I knew this would be a unique rug, but not THIS unique. I haven't made up my mind yet if I like it or not. The picture does not really look like the rug. The real body of the rug is what my Grandmother called a rag rug--unused peices of material woven together. It has many different colors, but you don't see them because the top part of the rug (the part you see) is scraps (and I mean scraps) of differnet colored leather sewn in to give it a big shagg look. The leather ranges from light tan to dark brown with a few pieces of white and light blue. There is no backing on the rug, but it stays in place probably because of its weight. I would recommend this to a friend if they were going for a casual or rustic motif and they are not afraid of being unique with their decorating style.
