Great Deal (JAQMATH, Houston, TX, 2008-05-12)

We looked online and at many stores to find an island hood vent that was affordable. This one was much cheaper than others that we saw out there and is very good quality. It was pretty difficult to install. Part of our problem was that we had a load bearing beam in the middle of the ceiling that we wanted to install it on. The hood vent doesn't come with many options as far as increasing or decreasing the height of it. But if you have standard height ceilings it shouldn't be an issue. We were very impressed with the looks of the vent and how quickly it arrived to our house. For the money it's the best value we've found anywhere.

Take your measurements first! (Kaar, WA, 2008-07-07)

This is a lovely vent hood, and it seems to work well. Be aware that it does sit lower than perhaps expected - one must be careful not to hit their head while working at the back of the stove! (And this is with it at it's highest possible height.) Our contractors had a bit of a difficult time installing it, as the instructions were not particulary clear. It is very quiet and looks nice. The one drawback I have is that there is no trim kit included, nor is there any indication that you may need one. Plan on purchasing a trim kit or make one yourself for where the vent goes through the ceiling.

Looks great (ColoradoBlair, Colorado, 2008-05-11)

It looks great in my kitchen. I was worried it would stand out or look out of place because of course it is an island. No need to worry, it is stream-line in appearance and looks great with my notty pine cabinets and granite counter tops. The only thing you will need to do is get the special pipe needed to vent it outside. It comes with everything else, but we did not realize this and had to wait a couple of days to get the parts and get the contractor back in to finish the job. But I really love the appliance.
