when someone gives you lemons - you make lemonade (lagurl, LA, 2008-06-14)

I got my kitty condo and quickly put it together - so excited. I had trouble attaching the screw to the base support post that went through the little cubby. Spent quite a bit of time with great determination to try to make this happen since I had no intention of breaking the thing down and returning it. (what a pain) Turns out the screw is just plain short. So I contact customer service for a replacement part. Since I read other reviews mentioning the same problem, I figured someone would have a fix - like a longer screw. I could not (from the box or anywhere) find the manufacturer. So I, as I said, contacted overstock. They promised to send a replacement part - boy did they - I got a whole new one... with the same problem! So, I will have my handyman do whatever needs to be done to anchor this thing down and make it safe for my kitties. I am a happy customer - two is better than one I guess - I figure what more could overstock do? Besides that part, I love this thing. The price is great and my guys love it. I would still recommend it.

Well worth the price despite some flaws (nonedible, WA, 2008-04-24)

The cat condo arrived today and I put it together. Like some other reviewers, I found the assembly a little difficult. One of the screws was not the right length, so the top half of the cat condo was a little wobbly. I put some additional drywall screws in to sturdy the top half. The holes in the ladder also do not align with the holes that the screws are supposed to be screwed into so I just nailed the ladder in place instead. The very top level has a giant hole drilled into it for some reason, but then is covered with fabric. The cats don't seem to mind, but it would seem that it would be sturdier if it were solid. Overall, the appearance is nice and you can't beat the price with the $2.95 Fedex shipping. My two cats really love the little mouse toy and all the levels. There is no funky smell to it and the fabric is really soft. The color is not quite as brown as in the picture, but it's still really nice.

Great for the price (TLMal, Rhode Island, 2008-05-22)

My condo took about a week to arrive but it was worth the wait. Very easy to put together and unlike some other reviewers mine had a slight odor but it was gone in a few minutes. I have a Maine Coon that weighs 15 lbs. so this unit is a little small for him. He's fat and lazy and likes to sprawl out which he cannot do on this however he does really enjoy scratching it and playing with the toys that hang off of it. He sits on all the perches, which are able to handle his weight fine. He does not fit inside the cubby hole either so if you have a large cat don't get this for them to sleep in or lounge. This would be great for a kitten or smaller cat. Overall, I think this was worth the price. Very sturdy, looks great.

Terrific Value for the money! (CatsRFun, Oregon, 2008-03-23)

Simply the best Cat Condo we've come across. Arrived fast. It was in a lot of boxes and at first seemed it might be daunting to assemble, but it wasn't. We advise taking everything out of the boxes, laying out the parts/pieces and then follow the instructions. It did not take as long to assemble as we at first thought. Went together easily. Our kitten was busily checking it out as we were doing the assembly. Quality of construction is quite good, for the money. We feel any one with cats and/or kittens will get a good deal for their money. Our kitten spends almost all her time in/or her condo. She just loves it and we do, too.

Even my granddaughter loves it! (SewRochester, Rochester, NY, 2008-02-13)

This is a wonderful deal. Very easy to assemble, and it took less than 15 minutes. Very sturdy. In fact, my two year old granddaughter loves to climb on it, and it doesn't tip. The reviewer who said it wasn't sturdy must not have assembled properly or tightened the screws. My only complaint is the VERY strong smell of the fur. It took two weeks for it to diminish. The cats didn't want to go near it the first week. If the weather allows, set the fur-covered parts outdoors to air out prior to assembling.
