Lifesaver (Divajan22, Santa Cruz, CA, 2009-02-04)

I bought this rolling backpack for my 4th grader because he was loaded down with school books and was starting to get neck and shoulder pain from his regular backpack. Kids have a lot of books and school materials these days and most use a backpack made for an adult - meaning the straps do not adjust enough to position the backpack on the upper back area. Most kids have their packs slung on their backs sitting in the low back area. This puts a tremendous strain on upper back and neck muscles. We found the rolling backpack to be the best alternative. At first we were concerned there would not be enough room for my son's books, water bottle and lunch pack. But everything fits and it's much easier for him to manage all of his things now. It's not perfect, we'd like a little more room, but it's a HUGE improvement over his old backpack. I would highly recommend it.

2 CalPak rolling backpacks (boys3zdb, , 2009-11-07)

I have purchased two of these backpacks and after 20-30 days of use both of them had holes on the bottom. The seams were falling apart. I have purchased additional warranty as well. When I called Overstock.com I was told, that they will reimburse me for shipping, warranty and the merchandise. Since I was happy with that response, I went and purchased new backpacks from Overstock.com. (More expensive ones too)..... Finally, I received e-mail from them that they will credit my account.... So, I called them... AND, what a different story. NO REIMBURSEMENT ON THE SHIPPING AND NO REIMBURSEMENT ON WARRANTY. I have recommended Overstock.com to so many friends, and they have purchased things from them as well. Now, I will have to tell them about my experience. THEY TELL YOU ONE THING, BUT DO ANOTHER THING.

CalPak is cheap and CSR is nonexistent (siestakeygrrl, Siesta Key, FL, 2009-10-21)

I bought this ahead of time for this school year-August 2009...so it's been only been 2 months of actual use before the backpack fell apart. When I tried to locate CalPak's customer service online, their website was down, but I managed to find an email. When I finally got a reply with a number to call them, I was informed that I had to pay to ship it to California (I assumed this, and shipping from Florida would be around $20), BUT THEN......they had the audacity to tell me that I would have to include a check for $9.95 to "process the warranty". The whole reason I chose this was because it was supposed to be warranted for 5 years. I'll never waste money on CalPak again.

just what we needed! (lifeimproves, MN, 2009-11-18)

We'd tried regular back packs and other rolling back packs, but for a middle school girl with no locker and a heavier backpack than her high school brother, we needed something different. The CalPak is just the ticket - it's easy for her to use, easy to get her books and notebooks in and out of, rolls nicely, is sturdy, and is still "cool" looking. It's also lightweight enough so that she can take it on and off the bus and up and down stairs at school easily (well as easily as is possible with it loaded with books!) Two of her friends have now ordered it and two other friends at school already had it. I highly recommend this backpack!

Best one I have bought great price (MnAmommy, St. Charles, MO, 2009-08-23)

I have bought many rolling backpacks for my kids. This one has been the best by far. It has lasted 6 months of rough use and still seems like it has a lot of life yet. One of the backpacks that I bought is rolling loud. I am getting an 80 percent refund from Overstock. THis is very fair. I will be buying another Calpak.My kids have a ton of homework every night so these have been loaded down.More info....It also has a lot of great features. (carrying handle on the bottom, mp3 speaker wire hole, several small pockets in front, a key attachment that locks the key in so it doesnt fall out.
