The Story Behind the Art

In a small town along the Central coast of Viet Nam, Le Anh Phi, her family, and a small group of artisans have been perfecting the art of handcrafting bamboo items for many years. This trade has been passed down from generation to generation and allows the family not only to express their creative talents through traditional art but also allows them to earn a living outside of the traditional means of farming. Le Anh Phi's children are gradually learning the process and when she no longer chooses to run the business, it will then be passed on to them.

FABULOUS TRAYS (MaryTVA, Fairfax, VA, 2008-05-21)

I am so pleased with these trays as they are not only attractive but extremely functional. I have two perfect sized trays that I use for a multitude of purposes such as serving drinks, carrying things from kitchen to dining room or displaying an arrangement. The trays are easily carried even thought the bamboo is durable and of course environmentally responsible. I often leave the trays out as the design is so interesting but I also like the way they so simply fit into each other. The handles on each side of the tray make it even more convenient and useful.

it was okay but not what i expected (dar1984, az, 2008-04-11)

it was okay but not what i expected. the bamboo looked painted on and didnt have texture that i expected. durable but for the purpose was more for looks.
