The Negatives: Leaves debris, hair and dirt, on the floor behind the cleaner, this problem is even mentioned in the owners manual with instructions to pick it up. I have never had another cleaner do that before. ~You have to remove screws after operating to clean unit. ~The belt to the brushes fell off and I had to put back on. ~I did not like the fact that the cleaner and water goes in seperate contaiers and is mixed by the machine, I like to diloute my solution myself. Poss. The heating factor made the carpet dry faster. It came with many accessories and a good supply of cleaner. I did not see any performance difference in this machine and the cheaper ones I have owned in the past so, next time I'll save a 100 bucks.

Bissell ProHeat 2X (designgrl, Carson City, Nevada, 2008-06-29)

I have purchased 3 Bissell upright steam cleaners in the last 4 years. They work beautifully for about the first and sometimes the 2 time you use them. Then the brushes quit working. The last one I bought in July of 2007. It is a Bissell ProHeat 2X. I steam cleaned my carpets and it worked great the first time. I got about a third of the way through them the second time and once again the brushes quit working. On every one of them the brushes quit working. Is there an easy fix for this? Please advise.
