Nice cots, but... (Ozaawaachiwebiik, Ely, Minnesota, 2008-05-30)

We ordered two of these cots and are quite pleased with them overall. However, both of them look like they might be factory seconds or returns because of marks on the frame and fabric. The appearance isn't horrible and it does not affect the usability of the items, they just don't look like new firsts. The worst problem we had was in getting the cots set up. We struggled with the first one for quite a while and finally were able to force the end bar on, with the two of us working together and applying a lot of force. The second one, there is no way possible it would go together. The fabric was simply too short, and this is why I gave the workmanship two stars. Other than that, the workmanship and quality seem excellent. Luckily, we own a hacksaw and were able to shorten both cots slightly so they're usable and so one person can set them up easily. I can't even imagine struggling with these at camp the way they were. The second one was unusable as it came from the factory. On the plus side, the cots are very comfortable and LARGE. The two of ours pushed together equal our king-sized bed and allow plenty of room for us and our two fifty-pound dogs. They are sturdy and easy to set up, and store away in very nice, heavy, well-made bags. We like the height and find them easy to get up from, unlike lower cots which can be difficult. We're looking forward to years of comfortable camping with these cots. We would buy them again, even with having to modify them.
