Yes, it has value for the price. (CompfyShopper, Carmel, IN, 2008-04-04)

The look and feel of the blanket is very appealing and it stays in place very easily. We like the light-weight of the blanket but are unhappy with two of its conceptual features: the top-most covering aspect and the circuitry safety shut-off. The manufacturer's instructions say to make it the top-most cover on your bedding, that is, no other covering to be on top. What about the principle of heat rising and the capture of that heat with another cover? The safety feature of the controls go through a checklist routine that determines whether you have covered the blanket with anything else. That brings us to the second feature, the safety shut-off kicks in whenever you try to cover the blanket with anything else (dust cover, another blanket, etc.). The controls switch to "E" for error and it shuts down, requiring a full 10 minutes for it to reset. The safety feature of shutting off after 10 hours of use is another aggrevating feature. It has a pre-warming feature that readies the blanket for use by maintaining a very low temperature before you actually press the "ON" button. Once you turn it on, it will shut off after 10 hours and you have to reset it after a 10 minute delay. I suppose the safety of these features might be of value, however, in our 40 years of using electric blankets, we have yet to incur any sort of injury or threat due to malfunction with proper care and use. All in all, we like the blanket and will have to adjust to its "safety" features and concepts. We miss the old (cover the blanket with another one to capture the heat) blanket we had that finally quit heating and the fact that both controls would come on when we turned on the wall switch that activated the electrical outlet they were plugged into (so handy). It does have a pretty design and looks very attractive.

Great Blanket (JMAZL, Philadelphia, pa, 2008-02-29)

Highly recommend this product. My wifes old queen sized heating blanket with only one control recently gave out. I was personally grateful because I'm always hot, she on the other hand is of course always cold. Feeling sorry for her I set out to find a new one for her. I was thinking on purchasing one only half the size to just cover her side, but knew she wanted to keep all the covers the same. I came across this one and read the reviews, really impressed by what I saw and the great value compared to others I purchased it. I must tell you we were both very pleased with the product. The embossing was very nice. The blanket heats up quickley and I couldn't be happier that it has two controls. I actually use my side from time to time because I can set it at a lower temp than what she likes. Like the 10 hour automatic shut off for safety and the blanket keeps a very accurate and steady temp for whatever setting you set it at. The fabric quality seems very durable and does not shed at all. The few and minor downfalls we have come across are that it's a pretty stiff blanket that's not that comfortable right up against your skin which is fine for us since we always have a sheet separating it from us in bed anyway-another is if you happen to turn it off or accidently turn it off while it's running you must wait about ten or so minutes before you can restart it, a safety feature I guess-lastly is the fact that it has two separate plugs, one for each side, we simply got an extension cord with two outlets on it and plugged them both in under the bed freeing up some of the clutter. All-in-all couldn't be happier and highly recommend it.

Beautyrest Embossed Warming Blanket (ramblinrose33, Humboldt County, CA, 2008-03-11)

I was a bit disappointed when I first received it, mainly because it looked quite a lot better in the picture shown on the website. The blanket is thin and it looked more plush with actual embossing, however the embossing is more of a design or decorative thing. Then I set it up and one side of the blanket didn't work, so I had to return it, and was very disappointed because I was really looking forward to the heat as it has been pretty chilly here at night. But Overstock was great about it, and had a new one delivered in a flash, and I did not have to pay to return the other one. The new one works fine and I LOVE the great heat it puts out. It is probably the warmest electric blanket I've ever owned. The auto shutoff function is terrific, it gives a peace of mind to know that if you forgot to turn it off, it will shut off after 10 hours. The wires in the blanket are much more thin than in the other blankets I've owned, so it isn't bulky or lumpy. I wish the blanket was a bit more thick and that the material was of higher quality. I can tell that this one won't be a long lasting blanket only due to the material. It has already shown wear, but that is partially because I live in a small studio and use my bed as my main furniture. Lastly, I'm much more comfortable at night and I do save on electricity, as I can turn my heat off completely and rarely even turn it on anymore. Thanks Overstock, I look forward to doing more business with you in the near future.

Controls get "hot" (SavannahCharles, TEXAS, 2008-04-14)

WOW,I must be the only person on the face of the Earth that did NOT like this blanket. I have had an electric blanket so many years I can't even remember how many decades that would be. I got this blanket because I wanted the Navy color. Sure the fabric is fine but not all that much better then my other one. I had the King size. As for the person who said most electric blankets only last one season and or winter I really would like to know the Brand of those Blankets ....I use mine EVERY single night...even if it is HOT outside I have my A/C on cold ....the only time I have ever changed out my blankets is when I wanted a NEW color to match the other changes in my bedroom As for this blanket the controls got "HOT"...as in warm ...no enough to burn a person....just WARM....and NONE of my other blankets controls ever did that. It caused me some concern. The other thing I absolutely hated was when the auto timer would turn it off after so many hours the "wait time" to be able to turn it back on was a real PAIN...I know all have the auto shut-off but I have NEVER had one that made you WAIT to turn it back on and start all over.

Beautiful Blanket and Oh, so Cozy! (TaraLeeB, Reno, NV, 2008-01-28)

We LOVE this electric blanket! We received this just in time for record cold temperatures! We heat our home with heating oil and at the current prices have had to deal with the house being cold. Our old electric blanket just wasn't keeping us warm at night, so when this went on sale, I decided to spend our Christmas money on it. It is so light weight, which almost stopped me from ordering it because I'm one of those who feels "secure" with a heavy blanket. I'm so happy that I purchased this. The fabric is soft, the design adds elegance. I like the weighted vertical controls - I'm about as blind as a bat, so the large lighted numbers on the controls make it much easier to read than the old dial ones we had on our old blanket. The weight in the controls keep them from easily being knocked over. Another really great thing is, each control plugs into the blanket separately. This means that when you move your control, the other one doesn't get pulled off the other nightstand. With all of this talk, now I'm going to retire for the evening under my new warm, fuzzy electric blanket to read!
