Perfect for our needs (IndianaGus, Indiana, 2008-03-12)

It has been a cold winter in Northern Indiana and with energy prices soaring we have tried everthing to reduce costs. We have tons of blankets on all the beds, and we keep the house at a balmly 65 degrees. So how does an electric blanket fit into our lifestyle. We turn on the blanket shortly before going to bed and it removes the chill from the sheets, and then we turn it off/down when we go to bed. When I was looking for a solution to the cold sheet dilemma, I looked first at mattress pads and found that for our queen bed they were $140. When I found this blanket at Overstocks I was elated. It offers two zones, so I can turn my side off when I hit the hay, but allow my wife to put hers on low for a bit of added warmth. It does a wonderful job of preheating our bed. It provides enough warmth that we could remove all other blankets and just use it if we wanted to. In fact one night I forgot to turn off my side of the bed (I was enjoying being warm), and I woke up at 3am drenched in sweat, because I was way too warm and this was with the thermostat set at 5 (out of 10). The only downside with this blanket is that I don't care for the material it is not cozy, but since we use it between a sheet and our comforter, I don't notice it at all.

Safety Features Inspire Confidence (Splake, Upper Midwest, 2008-05-28)

Having lived with an electric blanket of questionable reliability for years, we find this new Beautyrest Cozy Max a big relief with respect to reliability and safety. The dual controls (we bought a queen size) are easy to use and easy to read; the control performs a safety check each time the blanket is turned on and turns it off automatically, should we forget to do so, after ten hours. The soft, lightweight fabric is both comfortable and pleasing to the eye, and has sufficient margin beyond the wires to allow minimal tucking in without danger of overheating. We find, however, that despite warnings against laying anything over the blanket we do need to have an additional cover available to retain heat when the bed has been warmed and the blanket can be turned off.

Beautyrest Cozy Max Warming Blanket (elkp, Stockton, California, 2008-05-28)

This is the second Cozy Max blanket I have purchased in the last two years for use in our second home in the mountains. The blanket keeps us toasty as needed but the controls can be fickle. If you blindly push the buttons to lower the temp (when you are half asleep), it can go into error mode. This is a problem in the middle of the night, but can be soon remedied if you turn it off for a minute or so, then turn it back on to reset the temp you desire. This blanket needs a night stand to set the controls on, something to think about before you purchase. The price is very reasonable, the product seems reliable so far.

Heat things up (Organicstyrofoam, Chicago, IL, 2008-05-30)

I ordered the king size in ivory and was strongly disappointed to discover the blanket was more of a canary yellow than an ivory. The top of the blanket has a imitation silk polyester edge that sounds and feels awful. The overall material looks a little cheap but seems less likely to pill. This is not the blanket you'll want to curl under while sitting at your desk but the mechanics are genius. It heats very fast, has several heat settings and dual outlets which is great for conserving energy.

Replacement Blanket (Hopkins3, Columbia, S.C., 2008-03-08)

I did some amount of research looking for a replacement blanket. Ours was at least fifteen years old, only had one controller, and did not quite fit our queen sized bed. This new blanket is perfect! Two temp. controls, no heavy wiring inside the blanket, and it is light and comfortable. We have had some fairly cold nights and I have never had to turn it up above the third setting to stay very toasty. As compared to other blankets this one is a super buy.
