A perfect match (WarnerArtDotCom, San Jose, CA, 2008-01-23)

After purchasing the Alto bed from Zgallerie we needed some bedside tables. We went with the Axium tables because they had an espresso finish and a similar modern design. They are an exact match, even made of the same wood type. This is nice, heavy furniture with a very contemporary look. Overall quality is very high, especially for the price. You DO need to put the tables together. My first one took maybe 1.5 hours to construct, the second was slightly faster. However, I made the mistake of using a regular screwdriver, make sure you use a power screwdriver. The instructions are not great. The pictures are probably of more use than the text and while detailed, they are small. The tables are not difficult to put together, one person can do so easily, you just need patience. The tables themselves are flawlessly engineered. Every screw hole is exactly where it needs to be and everything is sized perfectly. Be patient when attaching the handles, you need to have the handle flush to the drawer face. Make sure you don't attach one side of a handle and then fiddle with the loose end too much, you'll risk scratching the drawer face. Only complaint I had was that one drawer was smooth as silk and the second was stiff. A minor adjustment might fix this. All-in-all these are great, good looking tables and a real value for the money.

Beautiful piece, time-consuming assembly (Kris000, Lyndhurst, NJ, 2008-02-16)

I bought 2 nightstands, along w/the 4-drawer chest and the six drawer dresser. First let me say these pieces are absolutely gorgeous! The nightstands were larger than I had anticipated; the pictures online don't do them justice. I didn't put them together myself however, my boyfriend did. And let me tell you he was NOT happy about it. So my opinion is purely based on observation and the fact that I had to listen to 3 evenings of whining in great detail (3 evenings for all 4 pieces, that is). The hardware that came with these pieces were cheap. A few camlocks broke, and several wooden dowels snapped in half. But they give you plenty of extra, so don't worry about that. Also the tracks for the drawers were not very sturdy. He used an electric drill to put everything together, and thankfully so. Otherwise it would've taken much longer to assemble. The wood is soft, so be careful with banging anything into it. I have cats, so my nightstand is already scratched, but I guess that's to be expected when you have cats w/claws that basically rule your house and go wherever they want. Lastly, it's all worth it. The affordability is a trade off with ease of assembly I suppose. Every piece is stunning to look at. I love them all, and only wish I had purchased the platform bed at the same time. It's no longer in stock.

Night Stand Experience (Vanhalen, Morgantown, WV, 2008-01-10)

Hello. I took a chance and purchased a couple of these to go with a merlot color headboad I purchased. It made a decent match. The height is nice and the style is as it appears online. The color looks black in low light and more of a grainy expresso coffee in brighter light. A number of other reviewers mentioned having issues with the drawers and length of time in assembly. I believe that the pictures in the directions could have been done better and this could have been part of what they ran into if their holes for the drawer rails were drilled accurrately. The assembly was really not too bad and the drawers function flawlessly. One of the tops I got had an area that was somewhat cracked, but some black sharpie marker made this better. The bottom line is that these things weigh 48 pounds. You will not likely want to ship them back, but the quality and style are decent enough that most would be very mappy with them. I can say that I am. Cheers.

Bedroom accent (Alderaan, King George, VA, 2008-01-07)

This is a nice piece of furniture for it's price. At first, I was unsure of what this rubberwood would look like but after I put it together, it looked very nice and sturdy. It actually complimented the furniture I already had quite well. I have an espresse colored queen bed which I had also purchsed at Overstock and the colors matched perfectly. The only qualm I have which I rated as 4 stars was the ease of assembly. For about 95% of the assembly simple elbow grease worked fine. The only difficulty I had was screwing in the rails for the drawer. The wood is tough and there are no preset holes. I guess this is a good thing because the wood is tough which I guess I can equate as holding up well. Overall, it's a beautiful addition to my bedroom.

Solid (pchoi94, Louisville, CO, 2008-01-10)

Before we bought these nightstands (2 of them) we looked around at the local furniture stores. What we found: 1. The minimum price for a nighstand at the local furniture stores was about $250 each 2. At that price, you didn't necessarily get solid wood construction, nor did you get drawers with rollers 3. At that price, you also didn't get anything that looked that great These nighstands are solid, you can feel the quality. It also doesn't hurt that they look great! Note: It will be much easier to put these together if you have a drill or powered screwdriver, but it's not necessary. With a little bit of elbow grease, you can put these together with a regular screwdriver. In the end, the effort is well worth it.
