I don't know why... (MedicAT, Metro Detroit Area, MI, 2008-03-16)

I don't know why I have been so reluctant to buy an iPod, over these last several years. Maybe it's my inherent dislike of things that dominate markets, and seem to force you into buying a lot of proprietary peripherals. Maybe it's just that I have to be different, and when the rest of the world is raving over iPods, I have to be exploring the merits of the competition. Whatever the reason, I have to say, that it was a mistake on my part. Reluctantly, a few weeks ago, I purchased this model, here on Overstock.com. I purchased it, because the new radio, that I had purchased for my truck, had an iPod controller built in, and I could not get a CD changer for it, since the good salesman informed me that , "They really don't offer CD changers anymore, because the iPod has really taken there place." I frowned, and considered the pro's of this radio, like bluetooth phone capability, greatly improved sound, over my existing radio head unit, and the con's as well... and there were only two. The first of the trivial reasons, was that the display was blue, the other that it had no CD changer capability, but only the dreaded iPod. I bought the radio, in spite of the shortcomings, and in turn, finally after years of silent protest. this iPod. I am both astonished, at the wonderful quality, and sound that this iPod provides me with. I think that for the price, the amount of storage on this unit is fantastic. I am an iPod Convert. and will never again preach the evils of it's existence. This model is sleek, stylish, and phenomenally functional. The screen is crisp and clear, as is the sound. The capacity intimidates me, as I doubt that I will have enough media to fill it, anytime soon. And, one of the most important things, for me, it's construction, is solid. If you don't have an iPod, you should. If you paid full price, you shouldn't have. 5/5.

Didn't work!!! Had to return. (Callie01, chicago, 2008-06-13)

I was so excited to use this! Unfortunately, I encountered error after error after trying to set it up. The ipod would sometimes download half of my songs from iTunes, only to suddenly stop synching. So I would be left with only 500 songs. Other times, it wouldn't even let me play the 500 songs. It just kept skipping to the next song, looking for who knows what. After trying to restore it (among other things), I still couldn't get it to work. The error message that kept coming up was "unable to read or write to disk." I spent countless hours in forums trying to fix this problem, with no luck. I even had an iPod savvy guy in our IT dept at work look at it, but nothing. I had another iPod prior to this for 4 years, with no problems. My computer is only a couple of years old, so it's not that either. I can only guess that it has to do with the iPod being refurbished. Very disappointing and frustrating.

Best Buy (teppa, Denver Colorado, 2008-03-20)

As always, Overstock proves to be a great place to shop! The IPod came in three days. It works like new (this is a refurbished model), LOOKS like new and is perfect for the price. I also purchased a Palm Pilot at the same time, same story. In the past, I purchased a refurbished computer that made it through the first four years of my daughter college life, then was passed down to my son, who's been using it for the last two years. I also purchased a refurbished IPod for myself two years ago. I've dropped it, kicked it across a parking lot and listened to hours and hours of music while working out.... absolutely incredible buy. Thanks Overstock for taking care of our electronic needs for a fair price!

iPods are well known (Asterisk, SW Colorado, 2008-05-14)

No surprises. It's a good product at a reasonable price. The only indication of refurbishing is very light scratches on the polished metal part of its case. Eighty megabytes is a lot of memory. With a huge amount of music and photos loaded, more than thirty megabytes remain unused. The key to easy operation is spending some time on iTunes setting up convenient playlists. As with every user interface, experience brings efficiency. Apple's interface is much less maddening than most. It would be great if iTunes included the ability to import LPs too. As it is, you must get third party software to rip and edit LPs. This is my first iPod. I'm glad I finally got one.

Ipod 80GB Classic (Snowbounder, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 2008-02-12)

I love my new Ipod. It is easier to work than I thought it would be. Coming from a regular MP3 player, I was not sure if I would like the control wheel, but it is very easy to get used to. I like the fact that I can also download videos or pod casts as well. It just gives me that many more options of use than a regular MP3 player. I love it and although it had been used before, it plays and acts just a like a brand new one. There are a few scratches, but not anything too obvious. I thought it was a great investment.
