Great buy! (CentralTexasGal, Central Texas, 2008-03-20)

I bought this 3G Nano knowing it was refurbished, figuring I'd take a chance on it after reading all of the great reviews on Overstock. I wasn't disappointed! The Nano arrived with new earbuds (in a sealed package), a sync cord, and the tiny instruction manual. Mine did have some minor scratches on the back -- but iPods are notorious for scratching and it doesn't bother me in the least. The front is completely pristine, the screen is bright and clear, and the money I saved allowed me to purchase the Nike+ sensor and a case! I bought this to serve as a workout iPod - so it gets hauled around quite a bit. It works great and I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. A note regarding the 4 gig iPod -- yes, you'll only get approximately 3.65 GB of usable space, because the iTunes software takes some space. The computer industry routinely lists the full capacity of the device - probably because it has no way of knowing how much space software (and any subsequent upgrades) will use. This is perfectly normal for any device that requires software -- even my 2 GB flash drive has software, so my usable space is somewhere around 1.7 GB. Please don't pass up the great deal simply because of the "reduced" storage space - this refurbished iPod has the same storage space as a brand-new model. If you want to carry more than 3 GB of entertainment with you, perhaps the 8 GB model would be a better choice.

Best Buy for the $$ (cynrun, , 2008-03-31)

Our family already has 2 80 gig iPods but bought for our teenager who wanted the smaller iPod @ Christmas for his first one. After comparing hard storage for the $ we weren't willing to pay the $ for the nano size at that time. This discounted price (about $50 off retail) made everyone happy - us to pay for it and the kid to get the item. Perfect birthday gift! Only problem w/ factory reconditioned was had a little trouble w/ restoring to original factory setup. Once I got that and updated the software (just clicks of the mouse on iTunes) it loaded great. He's got 1 full length movie, 3 games and 198 songs w/ plenty of room to spare. The battery has lasted through 3 days of heavy use between movie and music. You don't get the "iPod" box but it's packaged fine for gift giving and comes w/ USB, headphones and another adapter. If this item will be a gift, be sure to allow time to charge and restore to factory settings/load items (otherwise the iPod might be named by someone else and have their songs/ect. on it - since it's registered to another user iTunes stops to tell you you'll loose those items to add it to your iTunes account, which is what you want to do). Get it out at least 1 day in advance of giftwrapping :) This is the way to go to start your teen with an iPod.

IPOD NANO (refurbed) (Padraigin, SF Bay Area, 2008-06-07)

I too was a little leary to buy a refurbished electronic product, but did not want to pay full price for my 7 year old. I thought about a new shuffle, but she loved my Nano so much and worked it like a pro. What tipped the scales between new shuffle and refurbed nano was that she liked to choose what she listened too, which you can't do with a shuffle. In addition, she competes in Irish Dancing, so I could load songs for her to practice to and make a playlist for the music. Another plus that the Shuffle does not have. The Nano shipped promptly and when I received it, it turned on right away. In addition, it looked brand new, no scratches, etc. I brought it home and loaded it with music and videos, and my daughter is just thrilled with her new (to her) nano. I played it side by side with my nano (which I received at christmas) and could not find any differences in sound, picture, color, etc. However, being on the cautious side, I did purchase the 2 year platinum warranty for $9.95, which I think is well worth the money. Let's hope I never have to use it, and so far so good. I am very pleased with this purchase (and so is my daughter)!

DEFINITELY the best buy ever (ThatRocks, Chester, VA, 2008-04-18)

This is my first time ordering off of overstock.com, and i am VERY satisfied with my purchase. I was extremely skeptical at first because it was refurbished, i thought there had to be a reason why its such a good buy-but so far my iPod works perfectly-the only thing i noticed was a tiny scratch on the back(barely noticeable). Also, since its a refurb it had like 3.5 GB instead of 4. It came in about five days (which I was also pleased about) in a little cardboard box with the charger/cord and the headphones individually wrapped. It was almost fully charged too.I was amazed at how much it can hold, being as small as it is. The graphic/picture quality is great, the color is vivid and theres a lot of detail. (audio was fine too) it didnt come with full instructions, but its so simple you hardly need them :)I would reccomend getting a case/cover for it however, because your fingerprints show up all over it. I hope whoevers reading this enjoys their iPod as much as i did!!

Excellent Value...Great Quality (HappyiPodBuyer, Stafford, VA, 2008-05-29)

I bought this iPod for my wife (so I could inherit her old 2GB Nano) and she loves it. It is very lightweight, but not flimsy. The larger screen is more clear and detailed than her old Nano and comes with a few extra features (like showing the local time between songs). I was a little worried by some of the reviews about the device not sounding very good (especially since this was my first $100+ purchase over the Internet). I asked my wife about it after the first couple of days and she said that for some reason the earplugs that came with the iPod didn't fit very well in the device, but the earplugs she had bought earlier for her old iPod fit perfectly and she has never had a problem with the sound. She is also very pleased with how long this iPod holds a battery charge. She was playing it for 3.5 hours straight and the battery didn't come close to running out. Overall, it's a great product for a great price and I would recommend it to anyone!
