Down and feather-filled products are packed tightly during shipping. Upon receipt, remove them from their packaging, fluff gently, and allow several hours to recover their full loft. In addition, being sealed in plastic packaging sometimes causes the scent of these natural products to concentrate to a disagreeable level. A few hours of airing usually removes the odor.

SHIFTING DOWN - BAD BAFFLING (sophia816, Brooklyn, NY, 2008-07-13)

This comforter was great when I first got it (9 months ago) - it fluffed up nicely, had a nice size on my full sized bed, and is very warm and cuddly. HOWEVER - months later, all the down has shifted from my half of the comforter, and is clumped on one side. (Which, consequently, provides the perfect warmth now that it's summer, but in a few more months is going to be a big issue). The description says the comforter has 'baffle boxes' which is supposed to keep the down from shifting. This comforter DOES have baffles - but they are NOT TRUE BAFFLES - only partial, which means the baffled walls sewn into the comforter are partial walls (think a wall with a door in it), allowing the down to shift. This is an easier, cheaper way to do 'baffles'. Only after having done a little research, about my problem did I learn that companies could call their comforters "baffle boxed" as long as there is *some* sort of wall sewn into the comforters (some the really bad ones just sew baffles at the corners). So PLEASE - TAKE THIS ADVICE. IF YOU WANT A COMFORTER WHERE THE DOWN DOESN'T SHIFT, LOOK FOR "***TRUE*** BAFFLE BOX CONSTRUCTION". True is the keyword there - this means the baffled walls are solid, not allowing ANY down shifting. Just listing 'baffle box construction' is not enough!!!

Good value (Blingshopper, Cleveland, OH, 2008-08-07)

I was replacing an older down comforter and wanted the "overstuffed" look. I purchased this because another review stated that it was really full of feathers and had the look I wanted. While I wasn't disappointed with the quality I wished that it was filled with more feathers. It is a great value for the money and the fabric covering really keeps the smallest feathers from escaping. Even though it has the square box stitching there is movement of the feathers around the comforter, not too bad though, and better than I had before with a much more expensive comforter. I would recommend this product.

Great start, then disappointing (ssmith1, New England, 2008-03-28)

I bought this comforter about a year ago and was pleased with it. It was fluffy, nice quality fabric, and very warm. However, over time the down has all moved to the outside edges. It is now basically flat and empty in the middle and very full around the edges that hang off the bed. The baffles that are supposedly there are either sewn incorrectly or are just insufficient. We have tried shaking it repeatedly to readjust the down, but it just keeps going back to the edges. I will be looking for a new comforter in the near future to replace this one.

Sleep like a queen! (Dizzygrltoo, Florida, 2008-04-25)

This comforter is the most bang for your buck! We have had it over a year now and I couldn't be happier. I would use it year round if I could but FL weather won't allow it. It didn't smell when I first got it and within a few hours it had puffed up from it's packaging beautifully. This is the softest bedding I have ever slept on. Pair it with 400 tc sheets at least, a nice duvet cover & clips to keep it in place and you will sleep like a queen! I can't get the dog off the bed most nights now.

650 fill power hungarian goose down comforter (darthvader, , 2008-01-12)

Fairly priced - won't call it great value. Some boxes have very little down, others a bit more. Good insulation, our upper body got warmer while toes were comfortable to a bit cold at indoor temperature of about 66 deg F. The label says minimum 75% down. Suggests 600 thread count cover on the website (label does not mention tc) but my 330 thread count queen sheets appear more dense.
