Second Time A Keeper (1austenfanatic, Chicago IL area, 2008-01-15)
 
I read the reviews before I ordered this pearl. Some reviewers bemoaned receiving blemished pearls, the skimpy fragile chain, and lack of a nice box. I didn't care about the lack of a box. I expected to put it on a more substantial chain. Because I would not keep a blemished pearl despite the size or color, I thought long and hard about ordering. Finally, I decided to take a chance and order the pearl, my first Overstock purchase. It arrived quickly. It was very large, of a beautiful, subtle golden color, had a nice luster, but had two blemishes on the back. An Overstock customer service rep was very helpful in the return process. As a computer idiot, I messed up the process on my own. I loved the pearl except for the blemish. I decided to order another one and see if I had better luck the second time. The second pearl also came promptly. It was noticeably smaller than the first one. The color was a much brighter gold. The luster was nice, but not as nice as the first. However, this pearl had no blemishes! I decided to keep it instead of ordering a third pearl and hoping to combine the great size and color of the first with the lack of blemishes of the second. I didn't actually measure the pearls to see which was the size listed in the description. I put it on a much bigger chain and wear it a lot.

Disappointed (sduey, Virginia, 2008-01-21)
 
My mother purchased this necklace for me as a gift after I specifically picked it out. Originally, she was hesitant about buying something without first looking at it and turns out she was right. The necklace I received had a distinct line around the horizontal axis of the pearl, with the top half a different color from the bottom. It looked beautiful from far away but very flawed close up. Overstock was very good about sending a replacement immediately but the replacement was just flawed in a different way. It also had a line, but it was much less noticible, perhaps overshadowed by the two dimples on the bottom and side of the pearl. It is still a beautiful necklace if you don't get too close and I guess what you should expect for the price. Either way it makes me think twice about buying anything else.

Flaws very apparent (Razelle, Ashland, Oregon, 2008-01-03)
 
When I ordered this pearl pendant, I had expectations that the flaws would be minor, even considering the price. Not the case...the scratches and flaws in the pearl are very apparent if you pick it up and look at it. From a distance it looks nice, but not if you look closely. I'd pass and find a different one. The chain is a 'display' chain and will need to be replaced by a heavier chain as it's very thin.

Good value for south sea pearls (Tiff890, California, 2008-02-18)
 
The pendant is gorgeous. The picture on Overstock does not do it justice. It is much more beautiful when you see it in person. There are visible little flaws, but only when you view it close up. No one else will see it, which is nice. But I'm really happy with the purchase because of the good price. You cannot find a similar price elsewhere.

This golden pearl pendant is simply elegant... nice-sized and beautiful. There was one natural flaw on the pearl that was on the backside, but it was mounted so as not to be noticeable. I ordered it as a gift, but would like to buy one for myself! Overstock's service was great as always!
