Great gift for the $$ (RichNY, Hudson Valley, NY, 2008-02-02)
 
I received these pearls as a Valentine's gift for my wife. I immediately took them to a jeweler for an expert opinion. He asked me what I paid "....about $500, $550?" I said it was an impulsive gift for my wife while vacationing in San Diego, "but yeah, about that", I said. He said they would appraise for about $1100-1200. So I'm pretty happy, I can see minor flaws in them without any aids (i.e. eyepiece), but not from a couple feet away. I can honestly say I cannot expect better for under $175-shipped. If you want perfection cough up some real dough and simply expect to pay more. The pearls are all pretty round and of similiar color- a hint of rose. I was expecting them in a bag, like many others here quoted, but mine arrived in a 5x6 inch velvet case.

I was not sure whether I would like the pearls when I received them, but after checking other websites and stores I found this was a great value. I compared the same size pearls and quality and you can't buy them for the price Overstock sells them for. I read other reviews and I agree that there are some very minor flaws, but you have to use a jewelers eye to see them and the clasp could have been better. Overall this is a great deal. I would definitely recommend this necklace to anyone who is looking for a strand of pearls and does not want to pay a great deal money.

I saw these on Overstock.com first. I then went to several other web sites to compare prices the nearest I could find was nearly double what these were being sold at! I was a bit nervous because I had read all the reviews on this product and there were several unfavorable mostly sighting pits in the pearls. The strand I received was nearly perfect, only a couple of small pits that you really had to search for. As far as the length and beuty of these on my wife's neck, these are absolutely perfect!

Great looking pearls for my wife for Christmas. They looked great and the price was good. The only problem my wife had was with the clasp. She figured it out and has no problem putting them on or taking them off now. She recomended them to my mother in law and she also purchased some. The shipping was excellent as they arrived right before Christmas as promised.

The quality of the pearls was very suspect, although the price was very competitive. The packaging and presentation were terrible. I guess I learned again that you get what you pay for. This is the second time in the last four months that I've used Overstock, and the second time that I've been disappointed with product Quality.
