The Story Behind the Art:

Artisan Isidoro C'cahuantico Mendoza was born on 4 April 1954, in a village near Cuzco. During the 1970s he was forced to migrate when terrorist activities swept his region. Accepting various jobs, he soon found himself working as a janitor in a textile factory. 'I was completely fascinated with the work they were doing!' Isidoro recalls. 'I became enamored with the textile arts at first sight. That was one of the most important and memorable moment in my life! My curiosity led me into the world of textiles, looms and weaves.'

what a find!!! (etoile2007, Los Angeles, CA, 2008-03-02)

A couple of months ago I saw a peruvian lady at my church wearing something similar. I was on a mission to find one. Couldn't believe my eyes when I found it on Overstock. It is LOVELY !!!! Continuously receive compliments everywhere I go. The scarf part can be worn down or around your neck for extreme warmth. What a find!!!!
