Story Behind the Art:

'My name is Made Tresna, and I'm from Ubud, Bali. I grew up in an artistic environment - I was always in touch with many artists and artisans everyday. For as long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated with woodcarving, an art form I have been practicing since childhood. My father taught me, and he is one of senior carvers in my village. I carved wood statuettes for some time, until I realized there were many people in my village doing the same themes. Searching for something new and different to carve, I realized I enjoyed carving masks in a more contemporary style.'
