Created by master silversmith Thiva Boonnak, it is crafted in 92.5-percent silver and 7.5-percent nickel

The Story Behind the Art

Artisan Thiva Boonnak speaks reflectively of her art amidst the scattered tools and the pieces in progress that fill her family's old-fashioned workshop: 'Our region's designs are all special. Each one is unique and grandiose.' Her soft words echo the proud sentiments passed on by her family generations before her.
Thiva Boonnak tells how her father taught her and her brothers the silversmith craft, and how he showed them not only the technical, intricate skills, but also transmitted the smith's labor of love. With such passion flowing from their hearts to their hands it is not difficult to understand why the work of Thiva Boonnak's family is so highly esteemed in Thailand.

Overpriced! (savvychick, Atlanta, Georgia, 2008-02-09)

This piece is over-priced in my opinion. It is quite cheap looking. The box it comes in is the best part, unfortunately. It is quite small and not substantial in weight - quite fragile. Does not appear that way in the picture. Picture is not a great representation of this. Now I have to return it. I do better on overstock.com if I stay away from jewelry purchases - most have been disappointments!
