Story Behind the Art:

'Hi, My name is Marco Polo Serrano. Yes, believe it or not, my name is really Marco Polo. I was born in a small artisan town surrounded by handicrafts, as most of my family are artisans. By the age of 13 I had a job in a workshop that made artistic ironwork, and in this way I helped pay for my schooling. When I was 18, I quit working to concentrate on my studies. I got married, and my wife is also from a family of artisans.

'When I was 23, she and I decided to open our own workshop with a different design concept, utilizing a metal cutter known as a plasma.

'In this way, a piece of metal is transformed into a decorative accessory. All my designs are crafted in my own workshop. They arise from my imagination, from dreams, or whatever comes to mind as I begin to work with the metal.'

love this sun (scultura, Reston, Va, 2008-06-10)

Love this piece of art work, so did my husband. have it hanging outside on my porch. It arrived slightly crumpled in it's cardboard box, because it's weight is not syemetrical, it had crumpled it's own rays a little bit (suggest shipping it with tighter packing material) but it was easy to restore it to a pretty wave patteren by unbending the copper a little bit. It was easy to hang up and well balanced.

This piece of wall art is very well made and arrived very well packed, therefore in perfect condition. I have this hanging in the living room over the fireplace and it looks great! The 3-D aspect of this wall hanging makes it very interesting and eye-catching. Highly recommend.

Gust of Sun (shadsky0, Monroe, CT, 2008-08-30)

It was what I was looking for except the sun face wasn't painted that well. I ended up changing the copper to a patina finish and I changed the color of the sun face. It really looks rustic now. If you have any artistic ability, you can change it to meet your needs.

'Gust of Sun' is a beautiful piece of art that gives the feeling of peace and serenity. The workmanship is excellent and I would definately recomment this purchase to anyone who wants to have a beautiful wall hanging.

This mexican sun wall hanging is nice, but a bit dull. I think it already lookes weathered. For the price, it was a good value, but didn't have the "sparkle" that shows in the photo
