Button closure with a florid button carved from coconut shell

Story Behind the Art:

'I was inspired by ancient Egyptian glyphs when I designed this handbag,' confides Thailand's Pah Come. 'I'm from Northern Thailand. I began helping my parents when I finished school. I helped at the rice plantation and then cultivating vegetables after the rice harvest. On my free time, I learned to sew. It took me about a year to learn how to sew. I started taking cloths and bags to sew at home. I was able to earn extra money with the bags I was sewing, although it wasn't much.'

Disappointed (victoriaf, , 2008-09-01)

This handbag was delivered in an 8" x 8" box. I was shocked when I opened it and saw it was the delightful handbag pictured on line. I realize it was an import and possibly handmade, but It is very small and flimsy and is definately not worth the money. I will be sending it back.
